Go play a few guitars for a couple hours in the shop. That's really the best way to deal with it. If you really can't decide, get the cheaper one. It's hard to believe you're good enough to need to buy a Gibson LP, though. No offense.

How long have you been playing and what style do you play? Your decision really matters on what you need in a guitar. Also, try out as many guitars as you can before you buy one because it is purely personal preference. Especially when you are comparing two completely differetn guitars like a Tele and a Les Paul.

I been playin guitar since I was bout 7 years old. I play mostly rock. Right now I use a custom mexican fat stratocaster. But I dont really like it anymore.

SMILE, its the second best thing you can do with ur mouth

Sunburst (or maybe red) Telecaster, with white pick-guard, and varnished ''U'' shaped neck, dirty single back pickup, clean bassy front. From the Custom shop.

not a fan of the tele.. gibson rules though, if you have the money go with a les paul

see, here's what i did. i paid $160 for a squier tele, because i'm broke. so, now i get to rock out with as little change out of my pocket. yes, it kinda sounds lame, but when you're just playing for yourself, who cares?

personally, i'd get the tele, because i like the feel of it, but the LP usually cranks out better sounds. go for what you like. and what you can afford. which in my case isn't much.

If you have small hands get a fender, it will be easyer to play, you can buy stuff that makes it sound like a gibson

'No sympathy for the devil; keep that in mind. Buy the ticket, take the ride . . . and if it occasionally gets a little heavier than what you had in mind, well . . . maybe chalk it off to forced consciousness expansion: Tune in, freak out, get beaten.' HST

I've played lots of lp's and I have never really been impressed with them. I would recommend checking out carvin. You pick everything you want on the guitar and they build it for you. Their quality control is amazing (atleast with the 2 carvins I have and from what I've heard from others). Everything is flawless. The action is unbelivable and the amount of tones you can get its amazing (coil splitters).

Anyways, just check them out if you have nothing else to do.

It totally depends on what you want to play because a fender sounds amazingly different then a gibson. Go play them and pick which one you think sounds best for your style of music. Dont let looks influence your choice...with music its all about the sound.

how have you been playing that long and not know the difference between a paul and a tele? a tele has a more twangy sound, while a gibson gives a more fat tone. if you're playing rock, id say get a gibson. but if you're playing punk, get a distortion pedal, because tone doesnt matter in punk.

yeah. i have an SG and i like its sound better than the les paul. its not so brutally heavy either which is good for standing.

i love the tele. i play a strat right now but i would give it up for tele without thinking twice.i haved played my buddies les paul and it is also a magnificent piece of awesome. but depends what kinda sound you are looking for
