is it possible to remount a pair of skis that have been mounted for alpine as tele skis, i really want to try tele out, but i dont want to buy new skis.

just demo a pair...most mountains have them now

no... this is whats up. i really want to start tele skiing, and i have tons of old skis, i just want to know if its possible/ good/ bad to remount a ski with tele bindings.

i've seen pe's and seth's mounted with tele bindings this season so i'd assume it would work....i know absolutely nothing about that subject though

um i think he means after theyve allready got holes for alpining. but as far as mounting em on regular skis, from every telemarker ive talked to u can use regular ones, but a stiff ski wont work good

Yeah dude, if your just tryin' it out don't worry about remounting. Get real good tele skis if you get serious.

 
newschool tele is gonna go off soon i think.....seen a couple dudes now at winter park stomping huge airs (yes switch too) and rails this season

the dude that says 'stiff skis won't work good' doesn't know shit about tele. go for it man. mount up your alpines. in fact most people i know start off telesking mounting their old alpines because they don't want to commit so much money at the beginning. i started off that way.

 
ive seen tons of people at breck, one guy in particular doing stuff in the park on tele skis. there is one guy on fischer big sticks 8.0's that has them set up for tele and he was working on 5's the other day, and there is another guy on seths that was working on 1's and was doing the kink rail at the bottom of freeway terrain park. but thats not really y i want tele skis, i just think it looks kind of fun. but im starting to think that i should rent a pair first before i make a big money comitment.

you can take your alpines that have been mounted with alpine bindings, and switch them off for teles, they just fill the holes, and remount, just like if you buy a boot where the binding ajustment is too far for the slide of the heelpeice. go for it
