Four teenagers from the Edmonton area have been charged with breaking into a house and killing a cat in a microwave.

Police in Camrose, southeast of Edmonton, say a home was broken into twice while the owners were away for the holidays last month.

During the second break-in, a cat from the home was put into the microwave and then cooked to death, Insp. Lee Foreman said.

Four teens between the ages of 13 and 15 have been charged with several offences including breaking and entering, theft and unlawfully killing an animal. They are scheduled to appear in a Camrose court on Feb. 7.

None of the teens live at the home and none are related to the owners, Foreman said.

"I've been policing for over 25 years and I've never encountered anything quite like this," he said. "It's very disturbing. It's especially sad given the season."

A family friend who was looking after the house while the owners were gone found the dead cat in the microwave.
 
that's really fucked up actually, recently a guy in the states got 4 years for killing a dog by throwing it off a balcony during a fight with his girl friend, but putting a cat in a microwave is truely sadistic, i hope they throw the book at them because they'll pull shit that's much more serious once their older
 
this is what happens when youre so insecurethat you have to harm other things to prove your dominance. it's ignorant and selfish. I have no respect for those kids, and I hope they have to face the family whose cat they killed
 
That is just so low altogether. What the fuck is going through their heads when they put a frickin cat in a microwave? Thats just so horrible and low.
 
as terrible as it is that this actually happened, don't any of you tell me you've never wondered what would happen if you stuck a cat in a microwave and set it for 15 minutes on high. i mean, i'd never actually DO it, but it's just like imagining what it would be like if a school bus got stuck on the tracks right when a freight train was coming through. not good when it actually happens, but entertaining to imagine.

you need to sit down and take a couple deep breaths and then re-read my post. i didn't advocate it and i even said that it's bad that it actually happened... it's just that it's the kind of thing that you have always thought about, but never wanted to try yourself.

somebody was charged a while ago for drowning his cats in a pool too. man, who would be so cruel as to murder little cuddly kittens. or fat cats, they are still cool too.
 
I live close to there and its absolutely messed situation. The ugly thing is probaly only one of them is a hardcore psychotic and will grow up to be the next manson and the rest dont fit in anywhere else and so they just follow him. Even worse then that is that someone put there names up on facebook so the canadian youth criminal act thing that protects youth criminal identity is breached so it can very easily be a mistrial and they'll all get away scott free. So I hope these guys and shit kicked and kicked in the groin 12 times everyday for the rest of their lives.
