BELLEVILLE, Ill. (FOX 25 / MyFoxBoston) - Police in many cities across America are cracking down on over age trick-or-treaters this year.

In the city of Belleville, Illinois, kids over the age of 12 could face fines or even a trip to jail if they're caught going door-to-door for candy.

The city also prohibits teenagers from wearing masks in public year-round.

The mayor says too many citizens complained they were being frightened by kids who were just too old for trick-or-treating.

12? I believe i throughly enjoyed trick-or-treating until i was 15, as did everyone else. If you do it after 15 you're probably a retard, which old lady complained? Hate people like that.

i dont get what theyre trying to accomplish. if they dont want kids over 12 trick or treating, then theyll all go off and get shitfaced. if youre between 13 and like 16 you either trick or treat or get shitfaced; most the latter. you cant tell them not to do both because whos gonna sit at home and do nothing on halloween? that would make me depressed if i saw somebody doing that

DUMB FUCKING IDEA.

The year after I quit trick or treating, I got black out drunk. You have two options on Halloween, get drunk, or get candy, do we want 13 year olds getting drunk...didn't think so...
 
I was trick or treating till I was 16. We would go at night to not spoil it for the kids. Also, we got so much more candy...people would just dump it all to not get stuck with candy.

Thats terrible evidence, like who asks for ID when they answer the door on halloween. Its all subjective. Plus the irony of being scared by people trick or treating. Somebody please think of the irony
 
thats fucking retarded. you can never be too old for trick or treating. my friends uncle trick or treated with us once. he had to go on his knees and nobody gave him candy but he still came
 
to be honest when i was 12 it was my last year of serious trick or treating, after that i just got black out drunk every halloween, but fuck not letting people older than 12 trick or treat, that will just encourage them to abuse alcohol instead of partaking in a wholesome activity like trick-or-treating
 
if anyone asks "arent you a little old to be trick or treating?" this year, i am going to make them feel like the dumb fucks that they are with my 16 year old reasoning powers. and no, i dont drink.
 
im 21 and im trick or treating for sure this year, i stopped when i was like 11 or 12 cause i thought it was "lame" and i was trying to be cool and mature, then when i was like 14 or 15 i realized i was a dumb fuck and ive gone every year since. ive tried parties, and just like always they suck ass, so me and my friends say fuck it and go get candy. that and cause mischief. its fun as fuck so why stop? i never will!
 
it is so true about the liquor or candy.

I stopped trick or treating fairly early, 12 or so. Then I discovered drinking and halloween has been fucked ever since.

I was debating to go this year (19) but I can't be one of "those" kids.

In the end, you gotta stop getting free candy, and you gotta stop getting fucked up.

Serious? A problem in today's society is that kids are losing their youth younger and younger. My last year of trick or treating was when I was 17, I went as a dead snowboarder, and I had a blast. People over 12 should be trick or treating to hold onto that part of them that allows them to be little and giddy again.

but when im sitting at home; bored on halloween and decide to get blackout drunk and go into town and sell drugs and vandalize property, its your fucking fault.
 
I miss trick r treating damnit. Especially finding the house that gave out full bags of beef jerky and going back after midnight when no one else was out and getting the rest of his stash!
 
my cousins 20 yrs old, 350 lbs and still goes out and gets candy every year, he just doesnt wear a shirt and paints himself green and then says hes the hulk or shrek
 
This. I trick-or-treated till I was exactly 15. Then I started to realize that mass candy eating wasn't that good for you, but partying is VERY GOOD FOR YOU. Therefore, halloween parties took over. This year I'm missing all halloween festivities and parties for a rail jam and after party. Works for me.
 
Part of the problem in today's society is that kids are getting fatter because they eat candy and play video games. I say that any fat kid getting caught trick or treating should be sent to fat camp. That would be way more fun.

Have they ever thought about what they are encouraging by telling kids the cant trick or treat?! Eggs, Alcohol, Mary J, pumpkin smashing, probably just to name a few. To tell a 13 year old kind to not do something is just encouraging them to try it! Halloween is known as a night of mischief.
 
same here why rob teenagers of one of the best holidays of the year? Dress up and get candy. holidays are for everyone to enjoy.
 
Me and friends drove around looking for fellow high schoolers trick-or-treating and we would steal their bags of candy. I Think the limit should be at high school it's time to move on.
 
but they have to work for it, if they wanna get candy, they gotta walk around for like 4 hours and get exercise. i dont think the problem is people eating shitty, well it doesnt help.. but more than anything its that kids are boring as shit now, all their fun is parent controlled till they are old enough to do stuff on their own, and since they havent been able to go out and do crazy shit, be creative, use their imagination and think of fun things to do, they just end up sitting on a couch all night getting wasted, or sitting on the computer/tv. then they get a car, and all they do is go to parties, just relying on someone else to organize the fun so they dont have to put in any effort.
shit last halloween i saw maybe a total of 50 kids out trick or treating, and this was within like 5 hours of being outside, the streets were fuckin empty. where before that you would see 50 kids every block in the same area only like 5 years ago.sorry for the rant but yeah.
