You obviously haven't seen Rostrup's first movie Unity, it's Turbonegro, Greyboy, other rap and rock. No 80's music there boyyy. Hence it was before Afterbang. Scanners was such an Afterbang ripoff it's unbelievable. Not Another Ski Movie went into another direction, but even in that film there were too many shots out of place. In TBC he actually has amazing riders, who are versatile, and Kris "the Gap" Ostness, so I'm sure it will be good, but I doubt I'll like it.

Still sucks, tanner has the ONLY segment. the only other two things i liked was sammy throwing c crew, and tj's first run at the jon invitational. Other than that all isaw was breaks between skiing to film random shit like buildings, and cars, i dont buy SKI movies to watch cars i can do that in real life. and watching people spinning around isnt fun to watch, especialy when brandon becker looks like a tool. mainly this movie sucks casue nobody has personality, even tanner isnt as gangster as he used to be. everyone in this movie is gay like jon. and stop using slow motion e ery single shot. it just gets boring, especially when u see the saem cab 7 30 times every segment.
 
dude you have absolutly no idea how amazing this movie is. Have you ever tried to make an edit? Obviously not. You are seriously probably the only person on this entire site that doesnt like this movie, let alone hates it. you could become the new sketchline very fast
 
whats up with the "gangster" image in the us? everything has to be so gangster, wigger whatever... TBC has brought skiing into a right direction...

its a fucking sick movie! and by the way jon is the king, and hes a pimp not gay...
 
he is so right.. how many shots did you see in a park... maybe 4-5 it was all BC booters and urbans and thats the direction skiing is going.. being able to do everything not just park rats thinking there ghetto
 
except that PYB, which I assume you guys would think as the ghetto movie was pretty much all backcountry and rails. No park shots from Biollo, Pep, Tanner, or CR
 
thats sick that there are no park shots in pyb. however, i personally am not a fan of the whole gangster scene skiing is trying to portray. that's why tbc is so sick, they are not trying to put up any facade, they are just skiing, and skiing very well i might add.
 
I got an idea lets just take raw footage fuck editing/after effects and artistic interpertation and set it to the TRL top 10 list, then we can take out all the cars and other art fag stuff...now thats a ski movie. that mentality is what is wrong with the ski industry.
 
the "artistic interpretation" in tbc has nothing to do with skiing at all, how do cars fit into skiing, being artsy is fine if it relates to skiing, not ferris wheels, and highways
 
how does any of pop yer fucking bottlez relate to skiing? if partying underage at some swanky club with chicks that are 3 feet taller than you is what skiing is about, then i wanna start snowblading.
 
^agreed. In TBC there was not so much as one spoken word untill tanners section. no shit talking/jackass antics or shit like that.
 
honestly, I was really excited for TBC and it kinda let me down. It's a sick movie, but personally I think I set my expectations too high. Oh well, still highly recommend it.
 
got it today, watched it today, and it was soo damn good, and it went beyond my expectations.

soundtrack was sick too

I've just watched the crop of 05/06 snowboarding flicks and it has once again highlighted the differences..... Everything is relaxed, floaty, about having a good time with your friends, not the ski movie vibe of gangstarring it up.

Haven't seen TBC yet and from the sounds of it I'm gonna dig it, but so far the only skier who is as smooth as the boarders is Eric Pollard.

Go watch From MDP With Love or any Absinthe or Robotfood flick and then compare it with WSKI. It's sad. If TBC gets us closer to that standard, it's about fuckin' time.
 
Now that I have seen it a few more times, the soundtrack is somewhat growing on me, and there is no way the movie sucks, every shot is really nice and colourful and it makes you appreciate that we are getting close to snowboarding. I still haven't seen you back up your statement that the movie "sucks".
 
I like the direction Shanghai Six went in a lot more than Teddy Bear Crisis. Slow mo gets old really fast. The riding was sick, it just didn't keep me as entertained as I hoped for. Still a good movie, though.
 
Watched it a few more times, and you are still a fucking dumbass, one of the best movies ever.
 
i totally agree about the music sucking. the european techno shit just got old. u need a little hip hop and rock in there to mix it up. and what was with that intro? the animal costumes and shit were pretty gay. i would have to say that war and booter crunk were far better movies this year.
 
tbc is great the only thing i didn't like was that the parts of the swedish guys were so short even jon's part was way too little but i just loved tanners part exactly because it wasn't that much gangster as usually but war kicks ass as well the skiing in it is sick (hatveit, candide etc)
 
the music isn't even that bad. Its like the music in Not another ski movie. I liked the music in that movie. You get sick of always having rap in ski movies. Its good for a change.
 
Look at the retard AE's pic he has some massive baggy jacket and jersey on. Why do you ski on Maden's if you never leave the park? Give up the gangster image you are a rich white boy, you will regret acting this way so much when you turn 21 and realize how pathetic you looked trying to be hardcore as a yuppie kid.

Ignorance at it's finest. TBC was a refreshing departure from what other movies are. Granted you may not like the kooky techno pop, but to flat out say it sucks. C'mon man seriously. What a ton of work for all those creative edits and timelapses. Movies that are just tricks don't give you a feel for the travel or the people surrounding the area the movie is filmed at. I reallt dig on Ostness' visions combined with Rostrup's technical skills on a computer.

All too often on this damned site, kids have one narrow idea of what skiing is in their head. Anything that came before it or differs outside of their parameters is "fucking gay" or it "sucks." I don't see you trying to do better. At least appreciate it's efforts and difference from other offerings, then if you don't like it, don't buy it.
 
well he wouldnt know that he didnt like it if hes never seen it before, and i know I am never going to buy another WHITE person ski movie ever again. im geussing this goes for AE too. im only buying c crew films, not movies with monkeys for an intro i want negros being black in da hood.
 
i watched it again, well only T$ segmnet , and i figure i only dislike it now, becasue they make T$ look white, when infact he is black. and who cares about trasveling. like i can do that myself. if ud like ill go out and filom some buildings at night time with cars going by and tilting the camera. Like that guy said ^ i wanna see T$ and c crew being gangster not white as everyone is in teddy bear crisis, what kind of white peron name is that anyway?
