Teddy Bear Crisis > Shanghai Six

At first I was skeptical which one was better because they both had some sick stuff. But i have come to the conclusion that TBC is much better than Shanghai Six due to the fact it is mostly jumps which i think is where the sport should be going. The big mtn footage is short and sweet but it is still SICK. Unedited. Very good.

in my opinion, and i have not seen tbc, i think that shanghai surpasses any other movie made, in terms of presentation, and skill

Its a close call, but after seeing both a few times, I am much more excited to watch Shanghai again. Its just a better movie. Best ski movie ever Id say.

Jumps are so west coast....

Rails are part of skiing now, like it or not.

It allows most kids from the east coats to have fun wothout having hugeresorts.

i didnt really like tbc, it was really repetitive and the music sucked. Shanghai six was amazing, pretty good music, good shots and kick ass skiing

i only saw teddy bear crisis once but from what i remember it was super repetative. The same angle for every jump was used in everyones part. Definetly sick skiing and riding but i thought they could have done a better job of switching up angles and shots n shyt.

TBC is better in my opinion.

I love the filter's and editing in that movie, everything is so colorful and just pops! And its superbly edited, even down to the moving animations behind each athlete's name. Besides that, it has some of the most mind-blowing skiing ever filmed, with incredibly huge gaps from skiings newschool history undergoing a renissance with modern day tricks. If you were to honestly bring one ski movie to show anyone, TBC would have to be it. It daresay even showed up some of the snowboard flicks that year, and thats not ever taken lightly. And it does have a large urban segment, and a good big mountian one too. Finally, music-wise I dont know what you're talking about. Despite what kind of music you like, I can not think of a better soundtrack for a general audience. TBC is the first film that I feel non-skiers will truly be amazed by.

just checkout level1productions.com and get the update where they show how they made the lss-intros... and just 4that every level1-movie beats tbc

yeah, tbc was a let down for me. I haven't seen shanghai 6, but tbc definatly wasn't on par with war.

I know Im gonna get a lot of hate for this, but Shanghai 6 was the most dissapointing movie I have ever seen. After seeing such a sick trailer, I thought it was going to be a sick movie but it was all east coast style and I couldn't stand the music and the editing was bland.

I'm gonna have to go with Teddybear Crisis on this one, since I just watched that movie yesterday and I have seen it more than 20 times but it still inspires me every time I see it. I couldn't ask for better music, better athletes, and better editing. I liked how most of it was jumps too because I get bored of watching Vanular do urbans.

not sure how you got bored of vanulars urbans considering it's a 2 minute section and he killed it.. all this hype over tbc is gettin me stoked to go get it though, im pissed i havent seen it yet

there you go ced said it

i find rails far harder than jumps so i give a ton of respect to all the urb done in shanghai so maybe thats why i full disagree with tbc>shanghai

i think what everyone fails to catch is this. Kris Osteness, and Josh berman are both amazing artist and producers. therefore, thier movies are more of a unified piece VS a collection of shots (like what you get from PBP and msp, which have a more general apeal). from the music, editting, etc. i think both films are absolutely mind blowing. they are just drastically different styles. and i will say that tanner and favres rail seg had some of the most stylish rails ever.

i dont like techno like fischerspooner, thats part of the reason, some of the music was bad in sh6 but it did have some dood stuff like a tribe called ques, zion i, and dilated peoples

I can't pick. Both movies had great music and editing. I was a little dissapointed because the HD trailer for SH6 was better quality than the actual DVD. I guess I should have realized that you can't get HD quality on a DVD but why make the trailer in HD, it's like false advertizing. But it was still a sick movie. And Josh is from Mt. Kisco, NY and anyone from that area is the S***. (actually that's not true I'm just saying that because that's where I'm from, I'm a douche)

not to start off on a whole nother note but i think that white shine was better then al tbc and shanghia. i think it was just DANK

Whiteshine was a joke, the skiing was B grade at best.

TBC and SH6 killed it, though i get much more mileage out of my SH6 DVD, its just a better movie.

There was way too much slomo in tbc, that just pissed me off. Also I didnt like the music and the intro creeped me out.

Shanghai Six > Teddy Bear Crisis

Shanghai six did not have near enough big mountain skiing, as Berman's movies never do. TBC was also lacking, but still a much better movie. Neither was even close to waiting game.

TBC = higher quality

SH6 = more entertaining for a larger number of views

result: each great in their own drastically different way. Which movie i favor depends on what kind of mood i am in.

having every segment be a shared segment is soooooooo sweet. i looove that, it's just so awesome. like when someone's in a teaser and then they have 3 shots in the movie. DAMN i love that.

i seriously can't decide. i own both and i've watched them like a bajillion times each. they are equally good in their own ways.

ok so I don't get bored of that, but I have my main stupid reason for not liking it, and that was the quality. Like it was interlaced and that poopy fake Sony HD. I know, everyone liked it, but I don't. I liked TBC a lot because almost every shot was 16mm and the intro was 35mm. That shits just beautiful.

I liked Shanghai best mainly because I get bored of people skiing pow with now tricks, in Shanghai there was 4 shots, that's the reason I don't love MSP and TGR movies.

i use to like tbc more but in the end S6 took it for me, all that big mountain stuff in tbc really doesn't do it for me, all the urban in S6 amazed me to death, urban... so hot right now...urban

definitely. i think TBC was the best film from last year. Shanghai Six was indefinitely sick, but TBC was extremely well done. The music was original and a good change from the Top 40 Rap sound tracks of past years movie's. Brandon Becker's segment wasnt mind blowing but it gets me really stoked to go skiing every time i watch it. Mike Wilson has an awesome segment (2 actually) and goes HUGE in it not to mention a Wilson Flip over the snowbird pipe. Jon is doing really progressive stuff for last season. Jon Larsson has some amazing and insane big mtn shots. Yeah tanner's gay little speach with the distorted time was a setback and something that nobody's gonna care about in a year, if they ever cared at all, but you have to accept that his actual segment is pretty legit. Shanghai is without a doubt super sick but i dont think it has quite the level of skiing as TBC

I'm not gonna argue cuz i like both about the same but how can you have an opinion? Its all about what you are in the mood to watch that day

damnit i hate this thread. its making me feel worse about the fact that i just lost my copy of shanghai six.(the only ski movie i own)

atleast im pumped to get a bunch of new videos this year, and the lss intro looks like its gonna be sick
