I have a little insight to this and would like to share this from the view point of a politically active college student:

I am a member of the MFCR (Michigan Federation of College Republicans) and have been to numerous CPAC and MFCR conventions. I have seen Sen. Cruz speak a few times and yes, he may be a smooth talker and may be able to sway the easy votes towards his way, but the issue at hand is that he is too much of an extremist in terms of policy.

He may be a United States Senator, but that's it. His views are too rigid and far too Tea Party like to have the nation, let alone a party stand behind him. His views on Immigration have flipped flopped on too many instances (Much like Mitt Romney) and his stance with global conflict is to act as the world police. Of course there are atrocities all over the world and we, as the world's leading power, make an attempt to stabilize regimes and end slaughter in the streets, but he will go to Defcon 5 at the drop of a hat like it is a pissing contest. This may be an over dramatization, but he is far from cool headed.

He will pray too much to one demographic (Predominantly white Christians)and hope and pray to his righteous lord that it will be enough, the issue though is that as soon as another runner steps up to the plate (My favorite is Rand Paul) it will split Cruz's votes in half and get more level headed, moderate republicans to join the new runner's side.

I don't think Cruz will win the Nomination. I don't think he is right for America at this time (Or ever in my opinion), and this will all blow over in about 3 months when either another runner comes up for the Republican party or some leaked e-mails/videos of Cruz bashing Latinos comes out.

A net of 4.5 million jobs (back in july 2014) were created while Obama was in office. While Bush was in office he made 8.5 million jobs, he ended up tanking the economy and loosing 7 million jobs, for a net of 1.5 million jobs created.

To be honest i'm pulling for Rick Perry to be the guy for the GOP anyways so I don't really care lol, I've just liked Ted Cruz and what he's stood for for a couple years now.
