Tech reassurance: BSL

Hey guys, so heres the issue im having. Early january i bought a whole new set up and got some 29.5 (326 bsl) full tilts. I kept toe jamming in these so i finally went and tried 28.5s and the fit was a tad tight but no matter how hard i tried i could get the toe jam affect to happen. Problem is, i have my bindings drilled to 326 bsl. The 28.5s i want are 318. Would it be wise to still use them without remounting my bindings?

what kind of bindings? you may not need to redial, but you will absolutely need to adjust the forward pressure

Couldn't you put the 28.5 liner in the 326 bsl shell.

So he doesn't have to remount.

maybe you're just trolling, but there are a few issues here... A-a 326mm BSL is going to be a 28.5 mondo size... and B- why the fuck would you put a different size liner into a shell/last? then have all that volume fore and aft of the foot? seriously, are you retarded?

OP ignore this advice.

Yes you will need a remount on the FKS, griffons should just be a readjust, but you will definitely want to have them checked and tested by a shop

The reason your toe is jamming is because your foot is naturally flexing inside the boot. You solve this problem by:

1. Getting the right size boot

2. Getting proper footbeds to support your foot.

If you don't get footbeds, you will continue to have toe problems. The better the footbed, the less problems you will have.

The only way to solve toe jsm is to cut off you toes. Well i guess there is something else you could try but its kinda out there and crazy.... dont land backseat

I am not trolling but I guess I didn't understand what op was asking. So op disregard my advice if you could call it that.

Providing the FKS bindings were mounted correctly they shouldn't need remonting. A new FKS heel piece has 18mm of adjustment, 9mil forwards and 9mil back.

theoretically true. But doesn't always work. Have you tried it recently? Often times (especially in my experience) when the arms are adjusted to one of the extremes they scrape badly on the side of the boot heel. They also seem to release better when they're in the sweet spot of the arm.

Just my 2¢ worth

Yep, success is dependant on a number of factors, the shape of the heel as you mentioned being one. The integrity of the arms themselves and the initial mounting itself also have an effect on success.
