this past summer i decided to work at my local hill as an instructor. will teaching little kids that hard? i remember when i used to get lessons the instructors were allways weird and old. i need ot get my CSIA1 before they hire me. so im taking my course next weekend. have many people on ns taken the course?

ya man im a level 2, as long as your a decent skier and know how to explain stuff then your pretty much set.

be warned you may not get that much time to ski on your own. thats what i experienced and thats why im not teaching this year, it just wasnt fun after 3 years.

i took the course last year, just make sure you listen to the instructor and do exactly what they say and ski to standard. I found it hard to tell if I was going to pass or fail. I'm going to be instructing this year though.

this will be the second year teachin kids, and im not a huge fan of the job cause the kids just go there cause it's cheaper than daycare or wahtever, but when you get the stoked ones it's sooo much fun and dude it's not fun, you have to teach the basics, when you get into harder skiing it's harder to pick out the small things that are affecting there skiing

Follow directions and you will be fine.

Teaching is all about the students you have. When you have happy kids who just want to go up and down the hill as many times as possible and explore everything it is great. When you have crying kids that don't want to ski it is miserable. But at least you are outside with skis on your feet.

Dude, look into how much your hill pay's per hour compared to like a gas station. Make sure that if you go to the hill you are going to get hours. See if private lessons get paid more then groups. Make sure the hill offers bomb incentives. Heads up, i taught for 3 years and looking back i don't know if i'd do it again. Early mornings, bitch jobs, yeah it's fun teaching 5 year olds in season long groups, but its not fun having a group of 35 men and women who haven't seen snow before.Your skis get skied over all the time, having like 2 badass kids in one group is the worst ordeal in the world. good luck
