Teachers really gotta stop playing favourites

Seriously, its getting outta control, I'm tired of putting in 100% to only find out that some scrub got a better mark then i did. I usually don't mind as long as they're work is decent and somewhat close to mine, but in economics class, we had to pick an economy and examine it, so I grabbed the US's and made a slideshow for it, in addition to writing an essay we had to present it. So i finished presenting mine, and kids were all telling me how professional it looked and that it was pretty well done. Then this other girl goes, who also does a slideshow, her presentation honestly looked like it had been slapped together at the last minute, her title page was all white with a picture of the flag and china's economy underneath. Her slides were a mess with almost 20 points each over probably 6 slides, she consistently made grammar and spelling mistakes as well as pronunciation errors. I seriously think a 10 year old may have done a better job.
Anyway, today we get our marks back, and she gets a fucking 96 on the presentation. She always has her homework done, she always answers the teachers questions, and gets good marks, but she's not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I wouldn't normally give a damn, but it was a final project and when I'm trying to get into a good school its annoying as hell to see someone get a better mark than you because the teacher likes them.
I don't know, maybe you disagree but I'm tired of it. I'll show you a picture of my slideshow later just to give you an idea...

agreed

we have a drafting teacher at our school whos way worse than that tho. he gives girls a's. no matter what, no matter how good or bad their drawing is, they get an a. if he had a sibling of yours who he liked, you get an a. but if you are basiclly 75% of the other people in his class, you have to work your ass off just to get a b, and according to him, a c is a good grade in his class. my drawings were 10x better than many of the girls, but i got a c, just because he didnt like me. hes a pretty cool guy, runs a good, chill class which i loved, but ill never take a class with him again because i know i will just get a c, and my parents fuckin hate c's.

One of my friends copied my history essay word for word. He got an A on it and i got a B-, and he is one of those kinds of kids that sucks up to teachers

yea man same thing happend to mee , in religeon im there every day and work my ass off, while there is this girl thats preety hot, and she is there maybe about 6 timsd a month and been inclass about 10 times this year, and has like 75 and she doesnt do work , WHILE ME im tthere every day and work my ass off to find out i have a FUCKING 43 .... / end rant ahaha

sorry kinda pissed final exam tommorw

agreed mang. so fucking annoying because im not the best at all with homework, but my in class work is damn good. with my english teacher its like she has a monkey roll some dice when she grades. we had an in class essay a few weeks ago and i got a 10.25/25 because she has no fucking idea how to grade. my friend gets like a 19 or something out of 25, and her paper was absolute garbage. she even told me i had way more points to prove the subject and such. we both agree that my teacher is retarded, and that shes the biggest sexist ever. so fucking annoying. she told me a few months ago "i dont care if im 150% wrong, you have a problem with respect" like honestly, what. the. fuck. she can honestly go fuck herself, she has no idea what shes doing

/rant

some teachers take themselves too seriously. This is more the case with university lecturers, but don't they realise that without us they wouldn't have a job?

i find that if you ever have a teacher like that you can take your essay and have another staff member read it and mark it and then compare the two, you can also take it up with the department head or even the school principal, if you think that you deserve a better mark then do this.

favourite or US favorite Adjective

most liked

commonly used in the UK, it is a word, it means the same thing.

by the way, you spelled *you're* incorrectly.

yeah, in social studies yesterday a girl's phone fell out of her pocket and the teacher just fuckin flirted with her and made fun of her and she was the typical cheerleader blonde hot ditzy...and today a girl who is down to earth but not as popular did the EXACT same thing and he took her phone to the office and gave her detention.

Don't you realize that without them you would be fucking retarded?

Not justifying bad teachers, but the point I am making is you need them more than they need you.

instead of complaining to us... complain to your teacher. honestly, show the teacher you care about your work, and i bet if you tell him/her the stuff you're telling us, the teacher will raise your grade. do it man, you're gonna need it for college.

Pwnt.
This kid is obviously from the UK, no one i know uses mark instead of grade.Nice to know the teachers suck on the other side of the pond too.

Not at all, some of the smartest people around haven't been to university. It is entirely possible to teach yourself. Actually that is a large part of what university is about. Learning how to learn and learning how to develop your own opinion.
