Ok, let me just say that I don't think rapping about drug problems isn't played. I just think that his way of doing it is new and (I fucking hate this term) refreshing.
 
You said that not all rappers have meaning. No shit. Just because he raps about things he cares about doesn't make him special. There are other thousands of rappers who are doing a better job at it than he is.

I've actually only heard Same Love by him, and I love it. Not maybe so much because of Macklemore himself, but the message is definitely important. Sure, its mainstream and whitegirls are listening to it, but as long as this shit is still happening (people getting shit for playing music encouraging same sex marriage) I dont care which artist who produces it.

Sorry for the serious face post, but its beyond me how people still can be discriminated because of their sexual preference in 2012.
 
I don't give a fuck about gay people one way or another.

I will make a point without being at all homophobic to show how dumb an issue it is. IF gay peeps just used a different word than "marraige" which means man and a woman and called their partnerships "gayage" "bondage" "homoage" noone would vote it down and every state would allow it. But gay people need to push the issue and have same sex "marriage" accepted by all which isn't going to happen. It gets voted down for a reason and many of the people who vote against it don't hate gays.

Just call it something else than marriage noone has a beef. But nooooooo...they don't want to call it something else do they?

I sort of wish gay people were given everything they want just so they could no longer have any beefs and then be devoid of attention. First off, Clearly people do care that others are gay, or else this wouldn't be a "controversial issue".... and how in gods name would you know everyone's motives for voting the way they do? People vote based on their own beliefs, everyone already knew that, thank you captain obvious.

And the reason gay couples aren't pushing to legalize "Gayage" is because the issue isnt marriage itself, its about equality. Duh.... So, isolating gay couples into a subcategory of marriage consequently marginalizes them.... remind you of anything?

Mehhh I'd agree and say he isn't the final say on what good music is, mainly because that position doesn't exist, but he is fucking spot on by saying Macklemore isn't real hip hop and that he sucks incredibly hard.
