Any body else in bc affected by this? i mean, score, no school! but i have 2 provincials and its my grade 12 year, so im definately on the poop covered diaper end of things right now. they say it could last up to a month possibly.

the whole thing is based on lack of funding because alot of the money in our province is going to the 2010 olympics, and they have none for schools

the budget has literally been cut in half, my text books are like fuckin 30 years old(well, some of them) and their gonna go on strike until the government puts more money into the public school program. and our government is shit.

The bastards here in Quebec are muttering about it again... it wouldn't be so bad if I was still in high school, but now we have to re-take the missed lessons. Either in January (GREAT skiing holidays where everyone else is working) or June (sucks ass).

A strike by B.C. teachers wouldn't affect me, but it'd affect my younger brother (grade 10). Kinda lame, screws around with our edumacation.

I go to a private school, so it does not affect me in anyway. Thats one of the good things about Private schools.

my teachers in like 5th grade i remeber marched in front of the school with signs and stuff. it was something about a contract but we still had school

I don't mean to be a dick, and I don't know what im talking about either, so here we go. I read in a thread that somewhere in canada people over 18 were getting checks for some oil contract or something where citizens got cash for not doing anything but be canadian and live in the right area. Now, it dawns on me that maybe they should use some of this money to fix the school problem instead of just hooking up the citizens. I would have a hard time giving up the cash If I was a citizen, but it seems like you could solve the issue like that. but like i said before i don't know shit about the situation and i am sitting on a couch thinking i can solve the worlds issue by not doing shit. wow i am an american for sure.
