Teacher friends with Clayton Vila

I have been recently made aware that my Global Affairs teacher is cool with Clayton Vila.

I live in Rhode Island and am a senior in high school. As many of you may know, Clayton grew up on Block Island right off the coast of RI.

I was wearing a Block Island T-Shirt to class when I was complimented by my teacher. He then told me how he loves BI and lived there for 5 years. Instinctively my friend @viveiros asked if he knew Clayton, jokingly. The teacher then went on explaining how he used to hang out with him, and that his family owned like half the island, I find this so cool. He related the conversation to the class by telling Clayton's liberal point of views including his hippy persona. This got my attention in the class, and I now respect my teacher so much more.

Today he asked if I would like to meet him, and that he has his number. Even if it doesn't end up happening, I'm stoked right now.

If anyone has any questions I might have the opportunity to get them answered.
 
I have a house on Block Island. I remember meeting a kid named Clayton there. Saw his segment in Network and made the connection. Weird shit. Never would have expected someone from the Island to become a pro skier
 
Yes they are indeed, doesn't mean that it isn't cool my teacher is cool with the person who's skiing videos I watch.
 
I said "respect so much more". Never mentioned anything about not originally respecting him. The comment was also a joke
 
Thats sick. My Lit teacher las a King Underground Dane Tudor poster in her room and I asked her if she was a fan. She said that she was good friends with Dane's dad and she met Dane a few times. Kinda ionic beacuse last year I sat next to Danes cousin in class.

I watched Clayton throw down like 6 years ago for the Downtown Showdown in Portland, Maine way before anyone had heard of him.

Richie Paradise was like the big name at the rail jam, and he took 1st place. Clayton and Shea Flynn took 2nd and 3rd and at the time no one had heard of them yet everyone knew Richie. Funny how things have changed.
