TBC - Quick Review

I'm sure there are 100 of these...just wanted to give my two cents on the movie:

The intro was insane..literally, of the crazy animals running around. it was creative and not too long

All of the intros and lifestyle shots were dope...the timelapses had all these animations in them and the video itself would move around on screen.

the skiing was outta control, lots of cable cam footage and shots from trees which helped the more average tricks look better.

one downside is that a lot of the rider segments are really short, most of the skiers only had half a segment which they shared with someone else...you'd think Henrik and Sage would have had longer parts.

The only real park footage is the x-games/jon olsson invitational footage..but its sick.

the other downside is that the DVD bonus is pretty weak. a few slideshows and some b-footage...thats basically it.

the soundtrack is a mix of indie rock, new wave/80's, and electronic.

if this helps anyone that i guess i did my job.

 
yeah but tanner's song suck, i think its just not appropriate for the segment

but no, not the best ski movie ever, id give that award to ski movie III, or tangerin dream, cuz i loved that movie
 
^^ hell yeah but TBC is still a sick movie. I didn't saw war but I would put it on 2nd place of the movies of the year. There is some kick ass shots and the riding through the whole movie is really good, a lot of riders so it's a great advantage of the movie I mean there is almost all the big names and some big up and comer. It's definatly one of the greatest "normal" ski movie, the intro of the riders are really well done too.
 
by far the best movie to date...very creativly done. plus i thought tanners segment was epic as usual, even the song was good...flock of seagulls...
 
definitely my favorite movie ever, such good flow, that you can actually watch the whole thing thru except for the stupid digi stian hagen segment. and tanners song doesnt seem to fit his style but it had more of an ostness feel to it and i like the idea of getting away from the gangster side of tanner, a little. a little is bearable so it was a pretty good choice
 
My first time through watching both of them I liked WAR more...its just more my style of viewing.

I'm sure TBC will grow on me as I watch it more.

And yes, the extras are very very weak.
 
ya they should have really just picked less riders and given them better segments. Although then there wouldnt have been as many crazy good europeans that we never hear about
 
they had plenty of footage they didnt put in. think about it, of course they had a bunch more footage of most the riders but they only put in the very best stuff, hence the fact that i can actually watch the whole thing thru. no filler footage in this movie. they didnt even put jon's chads attempts in!
 
but yeah they definitely should have put the other chads stuff in the extras. i was REALLY looking forward to a bonus feature on the whole chads gap trip as a whole. that would have been super sick
 
^yeah i kinda wanted to see jons chad hit. but whatever, that spread was sick. idk i cant decide if its the best ever....its either that or 1242. one things fir shir is that im really lookin forward to tbc 06 release
 
1242 us definitely sick but it also had kristi's segment, the big mountiain seg with 2 year old footy, and i didnt like regnier's and mick's song at all. so tbc is my favorite movie, followed by clay pigeons
 
well ill name all the people i THINK are euro's: stian hagen, PK hunder, henrik w., jon olsson, jacob wester, niklas karlstrom, jon larson, espen linnerud or something, and... i think thats it..
 
oh, and another thing for TBC. the soundtrack is awesome, and has introduced me to sooo many new bands that are exactly what i was looking for.
