Decided i'd put a chunk of it into my camera gear pool.

What should i pick up that would benefit me or be the best to get. Im not sure what to get.

Current setup.

Canon T2i

Tokina 11-16 2.8

Canon 50mm 1.8

Canon 70-200 4.0

Rode Videomic w/ Deadcat

Battery Grip

Video Light

Giottos mtl3361b Tripod legs

Weifeng WF-717AH Fluid Head.

SO what should i add to my setup. My budget im thinking is about 500. I can go a little more though.

Thanks guys. +K for all help and suggestions.

Yea this would be a good investment if you think it would be of use to you.

Maybe some type of lighting or dolly system?

i'd say glidecam if you're into that. if not, a zoom in the 24-70 range could be a nice compliment to your setup for sure. maybe even a couple more primes - 24 and a 35 would be nice

I enjoy my setup. I feel i need something to fill that 16-50mm void though but im not sure. I wanted to see what you guys thought would be best. I may go the glidecam route but i enjoy using my Fig Rig when following.

Another thing is i've always wanted a decent SD, tape camera. Like a VX, DVX. Just something to have fun with.

Ah got you, maybe a 17/18 to 50-55? There's a lot I good ones out there so it depends what you're after.

Please don't get an sd tape cam haha

I'd much rather a good standard zoom over a glidecam, but I'm sure you'd know what you need.

Haha only if i found one hella cheap.

Yea im gonna look around for that mid-range lens. Though if i did i'd want a glidecam because Fig rig is only really good from the 11-16. Anything more and a glidecam is needed.

Not much to upgrade to for 500$ extra.

Weddings the general idea is you need FAST glass, your 50 would work, but the 70-200 wouldn't, and I'm not sure if the 11-16 would, and I can't imagine it getting much use there.

Brandon's suggestion sounds pretty good, hate how tight the sigma is(both mount and focus ring) but it's amazing for the price

The principles of detection tell me that you're a dumbass.

It's in your sig+probably plastered somewhere else, most people's names are really easy to find.

Or you could get an Olympus Zuiko 28mm 3.5 for $60 off KEH and put the rest of the money towards other things. Such a sweet lens...

Not necessarily cheaper. Bower, Rokinon, Samyang, and Rokinon are all differently branded versions of that lens.

Standard zoom lens, a field recorder, maybe a 2nd body since t2i's are cheap as shit now (or a 2nd body for photos/timelapses - 30D's go for like 200 nowadays) a magnetic viewfinder/field monitor or something would be badass.

not being a dick, but do you live at home? or is your job ballin or what?

I find myself holding back so much since $1000 of my money just disappears every month

Fortunately i work landscaping all summer which makes me good money and yes i do still live at home. I only have car insurance, gas and a phone bill to pay for each month.

I've decided to look for a glidecam and save the rest. If i were living on my own, i wouldn't even have the thought of any new gear.

Shit, I miss the good old days of not having to pay taxes. I wish I still got returns... I just get bills. haha.
