every tattoo artist and shop has different styles. if you're just going to walk in and pick some meaningless symbol off the wall, go anywhere. if you're going to have your own design or something custom, go in and speak with them. get a quote on how much it will cost, talk to the artist, and most importantly look at their portfolio. ask them to show you their single use needles and their autoclave. if they can't produce a portfolio, an autoclave, and pre-packaged single-use needles, go find another shop. it's also worth it to pay the extra money for a good artist. give it some good, hard thought. it's going to be on your body forever. tattoos do not come off.
