1. How old do you have to be to sign youself off

2. Anyone have any images that would be fine to like meet girlfriends parents with (nothing with like death or swears or whatever)

3. How painful are they, not that i care that much but would just like to know

thanks guys

i think you have to be 18.

dont understand the next thing.

im just assumiing that it hurts worse on less fatty parts of th body.

first.

i have a full sleeve, my whole leg, me ribs and a couple other smaller ones. armpit and ribs hurt the most, not so much any where else

yeah well i mean i dunno anything cool i have a bunch of ideas but what would be just a sick design

man, with such indecision, I would suggest NOT getting a tattoo. You obviously don't understand the permanence of a tattoo or else you wouldn't just be looking for 'some sick design.'

or any cool sayings, i mean like i have some wicked meaningful stuff i was just seeing what other people would get

18

something symbolic, i showed my girlfriend's parents mine and they liked it a lot, jsut get something significant, and dont' get anything if you dont' know what you want..

around the armpit hurt the most, but other than that it just went numb after 5 minutes. feels like a cat scratching you really slowly.

well i want a pair of stencilled buddahs on my shoulderblades, but i wouldnt recommend that for you.

seriously though, the time spent thinking about tattoo designs should measure months or years. don just go "whats a cool design?"

I'd like to disagree with the latter part. I have one on my big toe and one behind my ear, and both of those hurt like a bitch.

As previously stated, anywhere with very litte tissue between the skin and the bone is going to hurt a lot more. And yeah, I've heard the armpit is pretty harsh. My calf really didn't hurt except for when he got close to my shin, and it was a bit sore when he was working on it after I'd already been under the needle for seven hours.

You have to be 18 to sign yourself off, and in most states, you have to be 18 to get one, period. If you have no idea what you want to get and are seriously asking for ideas from others, that is the number one indicator that you are not ready to get a tattoo. No matter how cool something may seem at the spur of the moment, it's going to be there on you for the rest of your life, and there's no turning back. So seriously consider this.

My advice: DO NOT GET A TATTOO.

I have one tattoo and don't regret it in the least bit. I did, however, see a kid with a dragon/jester (yes, one hybrid animal) inked on his shin that he wanted gone, when I was getting mine.

^Good god. I'm sure he's going to love that within a few years. What is your tattoo, if I may ask?

Somewhat. It's only 1/3 of the way done, and it was a friend of mine at the shop who did it, so we took a lot of breaks and were talking with each other and the other guys at the shop throughout the whole thing. If I had been a random customer, it would have probably been about four hours of work.

It's a big shark that goes down and around my left calf. There's more to it than that, but it's 5am, and I have classes in four hours so I need to get some shut eye. Maybe I'll go more in-depth later.

This is what it looks like so far:

^^ very nice! I want to get a maori drawing of a manta on my calf, but just vertical because the profile of manta fits the form of calf, been talking about this tat for a good year now, going to get it somewhere before the summer, it will be my first

in my town you gotta be 18 but i got mine when i was 15.

and it hurts. but it depends where. some people say it hurts more on bony areas then on fatty areas but for me, bony areas are way less painful

actualy it really doesnt hurt that bad at all. i have one on each foot. the one on the my shoulder blade hurt the most, but then again i have a pretty high threshold for pain

i am going to get my last name across the lower back, and possibly a sequence of a skier jumping in the upper back...not sure about the last one though ive been thinking about it for about a month, but i still have 3 years to think so...haha

im thinking about getting my KAIROS numbers on my side or something. its a pretty big thing at my school, and id want to remember it. some kid got a huge ass one on him, but i think mine would be small

the best part of tattoo is coming up with the idea. If you aren't sure, don't get one yet. Think about how much your life/personality can change month to month, you need to find something timeless. Don't rush it, it's never too late to get one. Also they are coming out with some great inks that can be taken off my laser 10x easier. Just something to think about . I've had mine for over 5 years, never a regret. I always remember who i was at that point in time when i got it.

haha its a big secret. honestly it is. so, its basically a retreat that jesuit catholic schools do. for 4 days you do "community and trust building activites" it sounds lame, and for some kids it is, but for others its a life changing experience. i was in between those two.

Very clean lines. Looks good, and it's simple but meaningful. I like it. When I start my half-sleeve, I'm going to have something to commemorate my three (non-blood) brothers who were shot to death by their mother on March 16, 2004 (the same exact day/year my pit bull, the love of my life, was born). Either that, or it'll be with the tattoo portrait of my pit bull that I'm getting on the outside of my right calf. Probably have that date diving the portrait and something that represents the boys on the inside of the calf. It'll be done creatively, though, so it's not just a big bold date... probably hidden or done smoke-like or something.

i just had the second sitting for my half sleeve, under arms and armpits kill. I think the worst part is the constant rubbing off of excess ink and blood. After a 4 hour sitting the rubbing hurt more than the actual inking.

For your question, here in ontario you need to be 18, and if its a half ass decent shop they won'd do walk ins.

oh, and the dude with the dragon/jester was actually there to get another tattoo to cover up his original idiocy. He had had the masterpiece for a few months.

no shit, don't go asking around for random images. get something meaningful so it wont be gay when you 55. But idk...tribals are always cool!!!
