Did people here not appreciate this shot in show and prove. The one where tanner nollie 180s off a cliff into pow? Personally i thought it was sick. well the shot wasn't the best, but the trick was sick.

Or was everyone too busy watching double grabs in ski porn?
 
personally i thought the whole movie made the movie worth watching. ya there was some lame stuff like the cheesy voice over, but the riding was sick and it had a good vibe to it. It wasnt someting to watch right before you ride.

I'm not debating the movie anyways, I'm wondering why no one got stoked on that trick?
 
noticed it right away, it was sick, but small and the landing wasn't that great, but defiitely in general i think people need to have a lot more respect for tanner. he was doing nollie hardway onto handrails in pop yer bottlez.
 
Honestly, how the fuck do you do nollies? I try them all the time off small shit, and I've only ever gotten the pop to work right once, no idea how I did it and cant repeat it.
 
ya it wasnt the biggest and the cinematography blew, but i find it funny how no one seems to liek the subtle stuff any more. say in ski porn, jon's segment. monstrous late 180 on step up or double flip? I'll take the 180.

as for nollies tanners been killing it forever.

I just like to watch people do things I have trouble doing. If I wanted to so a late 180 I would go to the park and watch a 12 year old do them.
 
i fully agree about the late 180 thing brian, all about that shit, but its not that tanner isnt a good skier, but i think hes alot more than hes made out to be. i think he has shitty style (only holds grabs for like a split second), and i just think a lot of other pros could do the same stuff better. but oh well
 
^ I cant understand how you can make that argument. He is arguably one of the best skiers of all time. I can't think of anyone else that has ever proved to be a force in bigair, slopestyle, halfpipe, urban, bc and now big mountain the way he has and he's only what 23-24? Please...
 
i dont think many would people would consider him a force in big mountain. and yeah hes been influential but put him in a slopestyle now? definitly not winning. he had his time

sorry your just a hater, his lines blew seth's away in several segments, especially in the ak segment, you just don't like him cause your jealous, i'd like to see seth try and pull half that tanner does off natural elements. flips get boring in every movie regaurdless of how huge he goes, is that all he can do?

Seths owns the big mountain. Tanner will probably never match that. Tanner is good enough to make his own video tho, I think its funny that he did it on himself instead of someone else making one about him. Like Morrison had a video mad about him, it probably wasn't evenhis idea.

he may be out of slope but he is killing it in pipe now so, and he def had a rightside 9 in that coc edit and a nicer 1260 then dumont(not as big)at wsc and a switch 10 at x so just becuase he isnt winning slope doesnt mean shit he is still on top of the game
 
You're right he probably wouldn't win, infact if I had to guess I"d say only one person would win, that may or may not be true however. Regardless Tanner would still kill it and would likely finish in the top 10. People don't understand how much skill Tanner has. He can adapt to any jump or pipe, no matter how sketchy and throw down just as hard and stylish as if the feature was perfect. that's probably why he can throw sick tricks off natural features as well
 
Here's what sets Tanner aside from most of the pack:

Tanner performs when it matters. When the cameras roll and comps go down, he does his job. His sponsors are getting what they need from him cause he does his job well. Tanner can do what he needs to do when he needs to do it. There are a lot of guys (and gals) who don't get that. I'll admit kids might do tricks/lines you think are better or more difficult, but Tanner is one of those professionals who makes things happen. Photog/filmer says, "land this switch in the pow - first tracks and he does it. Whether he's the sickest in your opinion or not, he's doing it. Only the top 10 percent of professional skiers are in that class. Remember, being a pro is not just skiing around w/ your friends all day, but work; and in that area he has outstanding ethic.

and yes he is one of the greatest skiers of all time. type skiing into any search engine on the internet and something about tanner or one of his videos will come up. he is definetly in the top 10 skiers of all time, if not 5. nobody else has broken thier ankles after hitting chads switch then come back to win x-games. even before that he was on the top. your a dumb fuck dude. hes done so much for this sport, so FUCK YOU!

 
thank you! i thought i was the only one who thought this. dont get me wrong- seth's huge flips are crazy and impressive as hell, but i like the creativity of tanner's skiing alot more
 
i dont think its worng. I never said that. What i am getting at is people seem a hell of a lot more impressed or stoked on extravagant double this and double thats, with a 1440 rather than some smooth, subtle technical trick.

It may be a different school of thought, or it may be the easily amused short attention span of youth now a days. I was just trying to see if people were stoked on that shot, or if they only noticed tjs new double grabs in ski porn, because there certainly have been threads on that.
 
thats not to say tanner isnt one of the best but i just dont really like the editing or music in bigger picture movies as much as the other companies
