i guess it makes sense. tanner was incredibly smooth, but holy c4rap dumont was of the walls.

 
After the second run when they were asking Tanner what he would need to do to catch up he seemed stumped. Completely speechless. At least he handeled himself a lot better than he usually does though.

You know at first i thought yea Simon def should have one but tanners run was smooth and way more technical. Sure at first it amazed me how high Simon was gettin but his tricks were the least technical of the field. Thats not right all that takes is some balls! Until he is at least spinnin 9s 20 ft out he shouldnt win

Pete is currently sulking around Mt. Hood, shooting with Poor Boyz Productions and hitting on Kristi Leskinen. She hates guys, Pete lamented, so it’s not going good. Apparently Canada isn’t the only thing that’s tough for Pete to get into.

he didnt fail to deliver...he got jipped..he absolutely deserved that win...dumont didnt look comfortable at all, even tho he was going big, he flailed like a little girl

 
Has anyone bothered to take a second look at Jon's run? That thing was beautiful. I have never seen a run that fluid, and he used every single hit. Natty, unnatty... damn. The top 3 runs show you exactly what matters in X... first place, amplitude. Second, technique. Third, and last, style.

Jons runs was ok but just not that technical, it's less hard to be ultra smooth when you're not going huge

He wasn't as high out of the pipe, obviously, no... but he was actually spinning both ways effortlessly, and that takes skill. On top of which, there were zero, total, straight airs in the entire run... who does that?

I made a comment a couple days ago about how I wish one fo the skiers would mess with one of those dumbass interviewers when they stuck a mic in their face and say something like 'uh i did some spins, and some tricks, and yeah it was ok'

then Tanner did.

I still honestly believe Dumont had every right to win. But as we can all tell Tanner is a super intense and competitive guy and second place hurts. I think we got a glimpse of the inner drive he has.

Yeah I'd have to watch it again to make a final call but Jon definetly desereved gold in the slope, I just feel bad for him he is the direction judging should be catered to in my opinion, and they keep sticking him with 3rds.

i hearb you ^, i think jon olsson should've won slopestyle, but tanner hall, as much as i'm not a fan of him, he did deserve the win, it was soo smooth, that 1080 was marvelous. He spun it and was still floating down so smooth. dumont was good, it was 2nd place good i think, that kid needs to go through puberty, haha, that interview was hilarious, i'm surprised that his voice didn't crack.

it woulda been hard to judge,

if tanner and jon had scored higher,

people would be on here complaining that

dumont got jipped since hot got much higher than the

others,

it is near impossible to perfectly judge a freeskiing comp cause how do you determine how much one thing sis worth to another

Dumont never seemed to be one with the pipe. IT sound stupid, but every single run he seemed like he was surprised that he was at the end of the pipe.

How could tanner not be upset, hes never left x without a gold, and he got arguably got robbed twice this year after working his ass off all summer. I dont really like tanners attitude and how he come off alot of the time, but i believe he deserved the win in slope and pipe and he got robbed by questionable judging. U try and act all tough and be like -what a lil bitch, he was gonna cry, im a real man- He worked so hard and felt cheated, id be upset too

given the situation, i think that tanner showed a lot of class. his run really should have won, but tanner avoided saying so in his postrun interview.

i feel kinda bad for him since he worked so hard to prove to everyone he can kill the pipe too and not just slopestyle. If he went a little bigger he def. would have won

It dosnt matter that tanner wanted to cry, cuase im shure all of us would have wanted to to if in his position, what matters is what he did do which is not cry and have gold meadl worthy runs in both pipe and slopestly. And another interesting fact I found was that jon olson has won the most medals out of any winter x competitor, one gold one silver and six bronze medals. That is just crazy.

Why the fuck does it matter if tanners pissed. If this was my first year not getting a medal at X I would have been far more pissed. I think jons run was the best, but it doesnt matter what I think. So anyway why are you guys arquing about such a FUCKINg trivial thing. Act your age assuming that your over the age of ten. Because it doesnt really atter who one. All competition does s put skiers at eachothers throats. Sure you get money but you can hget money from sponsorships too. You guys are not involved let Jon tanner and simon get mad at the judges not you.

props to tanner...i have a respect for him now...and he has regained to be one of my favorite skiiers...that judging was highly unfair...and he shouldve won and he knew it...props to dumont on the boosting...but tanner ruled the pipe with technicality and style...sean feild was sick too...way to be tanner
