Tanner Hall's Losing Reaction?

tanner hall was on the screen because they were waiting to call out his score.... over the loud speaker came 92.00 he freaked out for bertoni and tackled him and the camera went to that. you wanted the camera to be on bertoni while they read someone else's score?

like really, tanner hall loves skiing more than any of you. it's not about winning for him, its about growing the sport.
 
You know, when I initially watched it, I thought that it was cool of Tanner to be such a gracious winner who appeared to be genuinely excited for someone else. I thought that it was a bit awkward or a little too much, but I certainly didn't think that he was consciously trying to steal Xavier's moment. We're talking about Tanner Hall...he's always animated and a bit over the top, why did this "incident" demand a 4 page hate thread?

After hearing Tanner's interview on Jon's blog, I now realize that Tanner sees Bertoni's victory as another opportunity to show the Olympic committee that half pipe skiing is a legitimate international sport, as opposed to it's traditional North American domination. It is a big step forward for skiing in general, and I think Tanner knows that better than anyone.
 
Fuck the haters, Tanner was just stoked, I guarantee it. Anyone who's been paying any amount of attention to Tanner recently knows he's one of the most selfless people in our sport. He got XGames Silver, he doesn't give a fuck that it's not gold... All that shit is so overhyped. He was stoked to see Xavier throw down such a dope run is all. I thought it was awesome, and I'll bet Xavier did too. Imagine if you just won XGames Pipe and Tanner motherfuckin' Hall was that pumped for you. It would be the best day of my life.

but i just watched the prelims for snowboarding pipe. and i am SO thankful that tanner hall does not have a signature line at TARGET. he also doesnt wear a bandana over his face at all times.

i think it doesn't matter. Xavier won. tanner was stoked for him and i don't think Xavier really knew what was going on when the results were in. they werent friends before but im sure they are now

Seriously Tanner is the most humble seeming guy, and he is just super positive on everything and that would explain why he was so stoked for bertoni

It was Bertoni's moment - he earned it.

Tanner was all over it. It's not like he asked if he could have some attention - he just took it. I guess it doesn't matter why it happened, but Tanner did tackle some guy he hardly knows.

That would have been like Tom Brady tackling Eli Manning after winning the Super Bowl last year....

I'd say that was uncalled for too.

It's not worth getting heated about or calling anyone dumb.
 
Dude, how the hell do you kids even know if Tanner doesnt know Xavier? Tanner gets around bro... this is a guy who goes all around the world, skiing.. scouting talent.. riding with guys... in fact, he probably knows xavier at least to some extent. I wouldnt be surprised if tanner was chill with xav, and they've been riding here and there over the last few years.

and Tom Brady and Eli Manning are totally chill with each other and are part of the NFLPA, and NFLQBC together, so thats a TERRIBLE analogy if you're trying to say that Tanner and Xavier aren't cool with it.

 
Simply put - this is my opinion.

And you're right - I don't know if Tanner and Xavier have some kind of relationship - nor do I care.

I also don't know or care if the two QBs know each other. Neither do you.

I do know they don't do what Tanner did.

Hate on this.

I would never tackle anyone on national TV after they just won the X Games. I feel it's uncalled for and takes away from the winner's moment. Conversely, friend or not, I wouldn't want anyone (including Tanner Hall) to tackle me and restate the most obvious news of the night seconds after I just won a lifetime achievement.

A congratulatory handshake or even embrace will say much more.
