Tanner Hall's Losing Reaction?

Tanner just did what he always does. he was stoked on who won and respected it, loudly, ha, and showed him props. i mean obviously tanner wanted to win and it didnt happen, but he didnt steal any spotlight, he just showed his gratitude by being stoked on a young new competitor.
 
i personnaly think simon didnt even try to push the sport this year as he always says in poorboys movies that the important part about pipe skiing is to improve our sport which apparently this year he forgot to do, he pulled almost the exact same run as last years with no new tricks at all he only focused on winning this..no doubles, no more air, same grabs...tanner pushed it as always with a whole new different approach to progress the sport, i really recognize this...simon will need to work a lot for progressing the sport and winning this
 
seriously wow at least he didnt just walk off like dumont did he congradulated him he was stoked thought it was sportsmen ship at his best (could have rephrased or rechose some words though haha)

They all put on a good show and it was entertaining to watch. I would have liked to see Tanner win, but Xavier skied well. I am usually not a big Dumont fan, but his run was soo ill too.
 
ok yeah i know his friend is in critical condition and he probably would have liked to win it for him, but he probably should have congratulated bertoni when he won like everyone else, and im not hating on dumont cause i have vibes for the guy right now and im sure he will give him his congrats.
 
you realy think you should be a mod! if all of your posts are like these then we all know why your not a mod. have some respect for other peoples opinions after all this is a discussion forum, not a hate forum ( at least in an ideal world its not)

thats besides the point! like I said and probably all the others who share my opinion. Tanner for sure did not do it in a spitefull way, he for sure wanted to show xavier some love thats all.... however, there are ways of doing it and he chose the wrong way, he chose a way that demanded tonnes of attention when its xaviers moment. its his time to shine and his big moment of glory and then tanner tackles him and speaks over him in front of the cameras.

I think tanner was secretely upset but didnt want anyone to see his real reaction and just was doing something instead of hanging his head.
 
yea and to all the hate on simon i thought his run was doopppe as fuck imo ne of the 3 runs could have been winners depending on judging...and like he said he threw that shit down for riley....give the man a break

I know that if I were in Bertonis position, I would feel so stoked if Tanner Hall just gave me huge props for beating him and winning gold. I mean lets face it, when people think half-pipe skiing, they're thinking Tanner Hall.

you dont seem to recall tanners sudden hiatus from slopestyle after he was beaten by gagnier a few years ago. people felt he was robbed then too, but nonetheless he suddenly dissapared form the world of slopestyle until this year i suppose.

tanner wasnt stealing anyones spotlight... hes just one of the nicest guys ever and was rediculously stoked for Xavier for takin gold and he just showed it in a loud way.

you may be forgetting that he BROKE HIS ANKLES at the end of that year and went to skiing backcountry...he said the landings were too tough for them...and he was fucking siked, he's the biggest name, he is always loud, he was yelling for the other guys the entire night whenever it showed him up top...Hall isn't a kid anymore and realizes that if someone beats him, then they must be fucking sickand dumont was a bitch by not even saying congrats

i gota give some props to tanner, he worked super super super hard in the last year, he hiked the pipe at snow park all day for 3 weeks, he was the 1st each morning, and the last each night to be hitting it. to then come to x and place 2nd, he would of been super super bummed, and instead of showing it like simon, he got all stoked on xavier's win and gave the dude some major props.

why the fuck are you hating on him cock breath! he couldnt of acted any better, sure he looked like he was trying to cover how dissapointed he was, but at least he was trying
 
no doubt i thought he way over reacted.. i mean its cool to be stoked for him or whatever but there was no need to like tackle the guy, i think thats just how hall reacted to the shock of being beat
 
I think MatRich put it well here, let's end it at that. I think Tanner may have actually been supportive and happy for Bertoni, but the way he showed it could be vastly improved so that Bertoni could enjoy his win to the fullest. If I just won the state championship in basketball or lacrosse (likening it to that since that is what I played), the last thing I would want is a member of the other team being the first one on the dogpile and shouting excitedly about my accomplishment. How weird would that be? And yet many on this site are saying that it was great that Tanner, a complete stranger (essentially) to Bertoni, was jumping on him like a hooligan. Perhaps Tanner will practice his runner up position for next year and simply give a "sick run bro, congrats" and head off to HIS friends so Bertoni can actually celebrate with his.

Anyway, thread end. Sick competition, I loved it.

if tanner or dorey had hit the transitions better it would have been their night. the best pipe skiing i've seen

All I have to say about tanner's reaction.. ARE YOU EFFING JOKING? Tanner isnt even the only one that jumped on him! there was like 3 or 4 people there right after him you retards! after Tanner did that, everyone else was like OMG I'M JOINING THIS PARTY!

That kinda shit has happened at SO many contests over the years dating back probably to snowboarding contests in the 80's! skiing is a comradarie, and tanner was definitely showing that. So were the other guys there. Oh, and for a good example of when somebody got tackled - How about TJ's 1440 at US open like 4 years ago, man.. everyone dogpiled in on that from what i remember.. oh, and what about last year when Andreas won slope? sure, no tanner hall was there to tackle him, but jossi, jon, and all the other guys there were like OOOOOO! right behind him and giving every other reaction.. Jon even grabbed him and shook him from what i remember.

You think Bertoni, who barely speaks french would even know what tanner was saying if he was like "yo dog, you killed it out there yo, and you're gonna hella be killin it for days now yo". I dont know if you guys have ever met tanner, but he can be known to speak in mad slang from time to time. Tanner's reaction is pretty understandable in every language - it means STOKED.

aaaand as for Simon's reaction... you guys are being stupid about that too. I would probably have the same exact reaction myself, as one of my good friends is currently in the ICU as well with some pretty damn devestating injuries. I didnt see him all bitchy, and pouty.. he was just somber. Even if he won, i'm sure he would have been pretty somber. The one most important thing on his mind tonight was Riley Poor's condition.. we are all hoping for the best there. He competed anyway, and he did a damn good job (a solid 6th hit could have won it for him for sure..).

people here need to get a grip and stop acting like the 15 year olds they are..

i almost never argue in threads but this is ridiculous Tanner was super humble about getting the silver he was stoked for an underated kid who slayed halfpipe tonight- like no other, look at how tanner reacted to dumont winning in 05 and look at him now, Tanner has my uttermost respect for being stoked on the future of fellow pipe skiers- this thread is a joke , I hate hating on this site but come on hating on tanner for being stoked on another skier winning is absurd.
