I don't know if this cracked anyone else up as much as it did for me when they first watched it, but I came across it again and couldn't help but piss myself laughing, especially when he hits those high notes.

On a more serious not, what are your guys thoughts about what he says?
 
the cinematography was grade A stuff

and didn't he spend a minute and a half pretty much dissing the type of skiing he was most famous for in the 2000s?

Everyone can grow and begin to have a different outlook on things, he was basically telling everyone to broaden their horizons, he found it, and wanted to share it with everyone else, get the word out to the kids. Tanner just gets his word out in that kind of way, it works, definitely introduced me to it.
 
Hate on small mountain people is the gist of what I got. What a douche! Seriously, not every kid has thousands to spend to go heli skiing. Not everyone has the ability to ski big mountain, so what makes big mountain the BEST skiing? nothing. Skiing is skiing, its all about how you express yourself with it.

Like music, skiing is like music; there are so many genres, interpretations and new electronic genres. Its just faces of the same thing. The best skier is the one that can do it all and have fun.

That's what I was thinking. That whole "speech" sounds like a rant I would hear in a bar somewhere. He's contradicts himself so many times, it's hard to take anything what he says seriously.

Also, is he still Rastafarian or did he give that up?

Yes. Raps pointed out the hypocrisy of his rant in Like A Lion. I still think it's fucking awesome though. A little embarrassing for T, but awesome.
 
I feel like he was just trying to attack the hot heads in the ski world at the time. But his bias towards big mountain skiing definitely overpowered that message.
 
that was a sick day , CR ended up on the podium. ( i think it was 1. Candide Thovex 2. sean petit 3. CRJ ) , but tanner speech is an al-timer for sure.... he was just do damn pumped, ( proly a lil buzzed, and probably at least baked off a j or too ha) but he was just so pumped for his homie CR , and to see his best friend on the podium again after that horrible crash. Def some funny stuff for real, but he just seemed so damn pumped to see his best friend skiing that hard again , and making it on podiums and stuff etc. but ha tanner halls speech is all time .
