Tanner Hall's last year of competing?!?!

I saw this interview a while back and he said that, 07 was his last year of competing in most of the main comps. I know that he does not do Slopestyle at X because he won it twice in a row. But WTF! Why
 
probably got bored of it like what makes this sport fun(well for me atleast) is pushing youslelf to be better then everyone else but once u have been the best for a wile it probably loses its thrill
 
idk about this year but last year i remember hiim saying he was just gunna do pipe because it was easier on his ankles, not because he was winning...the one thing i hate is in any interview he always brings up his crash, idk it just seems like old news
 
hes probably quitting because he can just go around and heli ski and shred pow all the time and not worry about comps. seems like a good idea to me.
 
he lost once and that was due to absolutely terrible judging, the worst ive ever seen in my life. you have no idea what your talking about.
 
exactly, I still get pissed off about that.

He really doesn't need to keep compeiting, most people at his level would have quit a long time ago cause they'd rather just go have fun heliskiing and stuff but he loves competition, he thrives on it. But ya he probably wants to just go do his own thing.

He's probably not in slopestyle firstly cause his ankles are bad and secondly cause he just crashed really badly in pipe
 
i think he is done b/c every interview he always mentions how he was skiing powder instead of competing. I think that being co-owner or whatever of armada and having his own production company takes up most of his time to train in the pipe and park
 
tanner is like the MFM of skiing hes good and has been ontop for a while, he has mad loot, hes just done while he is still ontop of his game.
 
man the best time to quit is when your ontop. Hes built himself a solid place in the skiing comunity and now its time to ski some pow and bang his hot girlfriend
 
you guys need to chill the fuck out with the '05 X-Games. Gagnier deserved his win and anyone not agreeing with that because of the fact that "one-footers are gay" can go hang himself. Anyway, let's not start that debate again.

I think Tanner's quitting competition because he wants to focus a lot on filming. Competition is really, really time consuming and doesn't let you a lot of time to do a lot of filming. Take TJ for example, he owns pretty much every competition (not this year though) but has never really had a good, full-lenght segment in a movie, except from Ten, and it was his first year as a pro and did not do many comps that year.
 
i guess he says that a lot, like years before he said it was his last year of competing.. but he will for sure compete in the olympics when skiing is in the halfpipe.
 
dude...cab 3 on the hip thing... gay 1 footer...horrible messy style..... trick wernt as gnarly on the flat down... ganier did not deserve to win...it just made better TV for x games if tanner didnt make the first ever 4 peat....ganier sucks hands down....ive never seen someone lack more style than he does...he single handedly ruined skiing...and all you fucking french canadians joined him in donning carson kresslys wardrobe and rollerblading around proclaiming that skiing was the sport of homosexuals.....THANKS!!!
 
wow your an idiot, gagnier was way smoother in everything, his one footer is way harder and nollie lipsliding (trust me i can do nollie lips consistently and have landed maybe 3 one footers ever), his switch 10 had a more tweaked out grab that was held for longer, and just about everything was similar except gagnier holds his grabs longer.
 
I hate this shit about judging. Those guys have the hardest jobs, and do it to the best of their abilities. All of the judges are respected riders, so please, give them a break, they score what they see appropriately, and in a lot of cases, it comes down to inches. I doubt many of you could do better. There will always be controversy in judging, and if you disagree with it (as I find myself doing frequently) just deal with it and know that these guys try their best.
 
see, I was exactly speaking about morons like you that need to chill out. and more than that, I was talking about fucking racist ignorant morons like you who need to quit this site and get a life instead of bashing every canadian because you don't like ONE skier in there.
 
Terrible judging? He bent over and touched the ground after his sw. 10. And he hasn't competed in the US Open or X-games slope since. You can attribute it to his ankles. But he still hits urban rails--why quit slopestyle?. Coming off a rail early and landing on concrete is just as hard on the ankles as knuckling a table.

I'm not talking shit . . . If I were Tanner, I would do the same thing. Why not protect your legacy and just enter a couple comps a year that you are sure to win?
 
two in a row? that was before the streak ended. now he avoids slopestyle like the plague. since i'm stupid, could you explain that to me?
 
THall is probably gonna go smoke and hit powder for the rest of his life that crash changed him a lot but he's Thall he can do whatever he wants
 
maybe tanner finally realizes that comps are gae and he doesn't need to do them to be in the videos and continue a skiing career.

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha racist......hahahahahahahahahahhahaha...ganier did less tricks than tanner that year..tanner should have won purely on the fact that he dlayed the flat-down AND did a much better trick on the hip...other than that the runs were pretty much comparable scorewise...nollie lip VS 1 footer..i would say 1footer might just get the edge...not in how good it is just how "tech""progressive" it is(fucking french canadian douchebags fuck off and qiut skiing you are a fucking laighing stock)..pretty much tanner beat chalres on the hip adn flat-down they were tied in everything else but i will give you the 1 footer....so there are the facts that speak for themselves..if you disagree you are just plain retarded...i know im biased but im not an idoit if ganier deserved to win i would say it but still call him gay...tanner deserved to win.
