does anyone else think that it would be so phat if he came back and did a few park events next year...like the us open and xgames...i mean i understand the whole trying to progess skiing through pipe and big mtn but why cant he still do park...he was so good at it then all the sudden he gets cheated at x and justs quits....whats up with that...

opinions?

that makes no sense, if his statement was anti park anarchy then he can't just dump something else and go back to park

he knows that in the park, everyone is now better than than him...so he decided to quit and to put empashe on pipe and big mountain, and now just dis everyone who rides the park

haha i just laughed at that, but your right unless he has been training for slopestyle he isnt gonna be the best, he trains for pipe and thats why hes sick at it

i think everybody is starting to give up in park which gets me mad.

i think alot of pro's get frustraited (didnt spell that right) with the kids that are just as good as them at the age of 15

big keyword there, IF. alot could be said about that word, such as...what IF any competitive skiing wasn't based on spin to win? would our sport progress more because they wouldn't have the choice of spinning 10's and above?

Yeah I agree, the difference between a steezy sw 5 and a sw 10 with style is that no everybody can throw a sw 10 with style, while a steezy sw 5 every can do that.

He doesn't do slopestyle anymore because of his ankles. You do realise once he retires from skiing he's barely gonna be able to walk right? He's trying to make his carrer last as long as possible by switching to pipe. And ya now there's no way he'd win a slope competition but that's cause he hasn't trained slope in a while. If he'd put the effort into slopestyle as everyone else he'd still be right near the top.

I'll admit I do get kinda sick of him talking about how skiing needs to move to the backcountry, I'm not saying it shouldn't it just needs to progress everywhere. But seriously, he's a sick skier, he's just a guy like you or me, quit raggin on him.

That wasn't directed at anyone specific, more at all the haters so if your one little view doesn't fit what I'm saying, don't worry your ass and tell me that's not what your talking about

hahaha you owned that nigrig^

but about tanner, he's been throwing sick switch corked 7's and 9's forever, at least since his rossignol days. yea his ankles are fucked, but he doesn't need to prove hes good at slopestyle because he already proved he could win them in years past.

its gonna be the same way with his pipe in like 2 years, you can only get so old before you start to wear down. albeit his young age he can't keep up with this. in my opinion i say he just ditch the comp scene, he doesn't need to prove himself anymore, he's already done so for five plus years.

And when i say take it to the BC, i dont mean comps, i mean just base his parts out there. do you ever see seth morrison in the park. no, but i know he can backy a 70 footer at breck with ease. you can only be so old before the park and pipe, and urban (dont see much from tanner these days), takes its toll, and from what i've seen it has.

so what i'm really trying to say he can't keep up at the rate hes going forever. its cool hes so diverse, with some urban, pipe, park, and backcountry in his parts. but i'd be happy to see him take the route of seth morrison, just be a big mountain ripper. i know he can do it.

and thats all i have to say

what you been smokin kid??? tanner kills park he was doing cab 9s before you were even a potenital stain on the carpet... he kills it just as hard if not harder than any one in park who else is doing 630 270 out? notmany people

what are you smoking? tanner is good at building little lips off things and tricking the shit out of them, seth is good at accessing the fall line and then proceding to take the gnarliest route down the hill as possible, no way to compare the two, as seth never really did much park, much less compete in it, just like tanner never did big mountain comps (which seth did do). lets just put it this way, tanner's bag of tricks will continue to grow, but as long as he holds onto his steeze he will never be able to have the kinda of technical skiing that you see with big mountain skiers. there are only a few who have been able to do this conversions: abma, pollard, henrick, jon (he race world cup, and has won a big mountan event) and c.r. (go watch focused kiddies). pep and andy will be there soon, but are more into the minigolf style lines at the moment.

also there are people like sage, anthony b and marc andre who have specialized in this combining of the two disciplines without much competition in either.

Kangaroo flips and double corks require ankles. And unfortunately, Tanner's ankles aren't so great anymore. But he's still an unbelievable skier, so he's moving his freeskiing ability in a direction that's new to him and easier on his ankles. On one hand, I wish he could stay in the park where he became famous, but the fact of the matter is that everything Tanner Hall has ever done has been really sick. I think his freeriding will be no exception.

or maybe IF the big events weren't judged your name!

i remember a few big comps in the past where some less known guy was robbed by the judges because his name wasn't Tanner Hall or Jon Olsson!

I think Tanner is one of the biggest influence on skiing of all times so I dont know why people hate on him.

well of course he's a pioneer, and no one can disrespect that. he's won everything there is to win in the past, and everyone knows that. but honestly he can't keep up with kids in the park these days. there's so many random kids no one has ever heard of doing 630 270 out.

tanner is deffinatly sick at both park and pipe and i would love to see him pwn that shit up but it is up to him. he has already proven himself as a nasty skier so now it is up to him to choose to compete. skiing is all about fun and having a good time with your friends. if i were tanner i would choose to chill with my buddies and rip it up rather than submit to the pressure of comps. just dont worry about it, what happens will happen. even if he doesnt compete he will still put up a sick segment and we cant ask for more than that.

Same reason people hate on Tony Hawk. Cause hes famous and one of the biggest names in the industry so theres always gonna be haters.

Who the hell cares if there are better kids now. Always there is gonna be some1 better than you. I dosnt even train slopestyle now so to say there are better kids than him is just stupid. He will still be 1 of the bigget names and I bet you idolized him at one time of your life.

if its true that tanner is hyping the backcountry stuff becuase its all he can ski due to his ankles then that is sorta sad.. like ok, just becuase he cant ski park anymore lets try to change the way skiing is going so he can be on top?? anyone else find that a little selfish?
