Tanner Hall wins NZ open

I'm curious as to whether the competitors knew it was a 1 run final, or if they called it after everyone had taken their first run.
 
either way it really only matters so much, pipe competitions are trained for and they will use the same run as long as they can. granted they might go a little bit bigger in their second run, im sure tanner can dub in the pipe and im sure he has more of a larger bag of tricks
 
Greg Minnaar just won the dh World Champs along with securing 2nd for overall season standings... at the age of 31.

No matter if he got lucky or not from that 1 run final, it's pretty badass that he actually won his first pipe comp back..And we are not talking about a couple months delay...

 
your an idiot.. The fact that it was bad weather and a 1 run final is the only way tanner was ever even going to podium..Wipdee doo he did the same run he was doing 4 years ago and he won, do you really think that run would be good enough if the competition was actually at a high standard?
Everyones saying, fuck the haters Tanners back. Well, not really, im not hating either, but just because he won a pipe comp in shitty weather when there were no dubs thrown, doesnt mean that he is any where near the top of the game, stack that field with good pipe riders, besides Torin, and his winning run wouldnt of even made it to a final.
Him winning also doesnt show up Red Bull, Tanner got dropped because of his attitude, there were very specific things he said and did that would make any company want to drop him if it was to do with them. Tanner might be a legend, but his attitude is wack, you should of heard the shit he was saying down here the last few weeks, it was painful.

Oh that's great that you know exactly what Tanner can do in a pipe! Did you ever stop to think that he has learned a few things since he's been back at the best health of his life and taking advantage of those training camps right before he got dropped? All you can assess, without being a complete jackass, is that Tanner outperformed everyone that day with that weather. Get over it, its a fact. Wait until he competes in more shit before you judge him because even though you might not remember this, Tanner had a dub loop, plenty of right-side, and a 1260 on lock before his injuries... although amnesia tends to be common among the more ignorant children of the site.

I'm supporting a legend of the sport by being stoked that he's back competing and winning... I'm such an asshole.

Tanner could dub flair, right side with the best of them, and 1260 before his injury, 4 YEARS AGO.

Add in the dub 12 he's been throwing on the air bag and that's a winning fucking run. I'm not saying he's got that trick down, but he's got a couple months of training until the Dew Tour and X games to perfect his run.

Really liked how he gave a shout out to Jossi. I like how T can stand on a podium and give respect to another skier who just was unlucky with the weather.

Speaking of which was anyone there? The conditions looked fucking awful.

The bottom line is, T Hall IS back. He won his first pipe comp back from what should have been a career ending injury. Attributing his win to bad weather, or any thing else, is just plain silly.
 
I've never seen someone have so much hate for another person for speaking with an accent they don't normally speak with...

On another note, I think saying shit like "look at me now RedBull" is pretty damn immature...maybe an example of his actions that motivated RedBull to drop him

Congrats to tanner, winning his first comp back is very impressive no matter the circumstances.

Just as importantly, Jossi's qualifying run was fucking beautiful.
 
clearly Tanner is not Jamaican. What does it matter if he develops some sort of accent? Plenty of people in the US who move down south develop a southern "drawl." It just happens when that's all you hear and when you're surrounded by it. Same goes for Tanner. I don't get how there's so much hate for someone who's done more for our sport than virtually anyone else.
 
Its because they're ignorant n00bs who only recently joined skiing. They have no concept of how skiing got to where it is today, all they care about is being associated with skiing because its the new cool thing to do.

Either that or he's a dumb ass, granola munching, 35 year-old shitty skier who lives in a van and jerks off to TGR using NS members' tears as lubricant.
 
Or maybe it's because there's a dozen other "legends" in skiing that aren't arrogant fake assholes. Such as Shane, CR, JP Auclair, Seth Morrison, Sarah, Glen Plake, Jamie, Mike Wilson....
