Tanner Hall ink's 10 day contract to assist NBC with public relations in Beijing.

There has been recent back lash for NBC's coverage after Mikaela's unfortunate back to back crashes, saying NBC has been too harsh on the prolific Shiffrin.

Many watching from their couches are mad online, one response on Twitter put it: “Show some empathy.” NBC, said another, was “shaming” Shiffrin — “torturing” her. “The relentless hype machine,” one critic wrote, “has claimed another victim.”

T.Hall released a statement on behalf of NBC, saying "There’s no script when there’s a wipeout on the slopes or a fall in figure skating. We’re watching real people with real emotions in real time and we did everything we were supposed to do.”

There is no telling if this will help launch a new career for Hall, or if this is just a stint in his bag of many tricks. Full article here:

I love Tanner but he can be a massive shit talker and hater. I don’t want to hear Tanner clowning on competitors at the start gate (although that kinda sounds hilarious)

Bro Tanner was saying it was wrong for NBC to keep filming Mikaela after those crashes. He's saying she is a human being who makes mistakes and has emotions, it's not cool to sit there and film some chick (who's probably had one of the worst days of her life) crying on the side of a race course for TV views.

I think Tanner would definitely be a great sports announcer but he would 100% have to clean up his act first so he doesn't go on some huge retard rant on live TV.

Was it the article? It isn’t loading for me but I agree with him.

Yeah he sometimes like flips a switch and goes into angry rant mode lol

the quote was jokingly attributed to tanner by OP because the NBC person actually did say the "real people with real emotions in real time" sentence, but it was in defense of the coverage. she was saying there is no script, we're there to cover what's happening and that's what was happening

While I didn’t see this, I heard that the NBC just stuck on her for twenty minutes or whatever while the race continued.

as someone who works in the broadcast industry, and is currently out here at Genting for the Olympics, I gotta say NBC did her dirty.

Olympics coverage is provided by OBS, they provide the host feed. NBC will take that feed, and cut their own cameras into it. Usually they have a start and finish handheld, as well as a third camera just below the start (which is what I imagine stayed on Shiffrin after her crash).

So that feed was there the whole

time, but the director stayed right there. Poor girl.

even yesterdays SBX event, one of the Americans was doing so well, until he wasn’t. Our director cut to

him taking in the defeat for a little too long (like 15 seconds) and felt bad right away.

so damn NBC, do better
