I'm obviously not the voice of all women, but from my understanding posts like these make freeskiing seem like a bit of a boys club. Freestyle skiing is definitely a male dominated sport, and tanner halls ig post definitely leans into this narrative. I think people would be less upset if there was more context linked to his post. Idk that's just my take.

I agree that this post makes it seem like a boys club, but I don't see the connection between this photo and skiing being a male-dominated sport. Yes, tanner hall is a skier, but this photo really doesn't have anything to do with skiing. Clayton vila having the monster girl carry his skis up the stairs is arguably way worse than this.

Yeah I can understand that take, especially when he first posted it if you didnt know he was dating her. Its definitely got Dan Blizarian vibes. But once you realize that these two are in a serious loving relationship I think that removes any of the misogynist implications. His girlfriend straight up said she paid for the photo shoot and picked the picture out.

It's not a bad analysis other than the plainly wrong assumptions. Tanner's gf straight up said this photo was her idea and made for the two of them as a couple, so all there really is here is some bad optics, which tbf is her 3rd point in the argument. I get it, If I were a younger woman just getting to freeskiing and saw this with no context, I wouldn't be thrilled at the message either.

But on the other hand, Feminism is about empowering women to do what they want, and if Tanner's gf wants to take these types of photos it seems asinine to criticize her bf (Tanner) for posting a photo that he's in. Skiing in general used to be sooo much cooler back in the day. Bode Miller would show up hung over to world cup races and win. Tanner Hall and Simon Dumont would have people holding them back from fighting as they battled for gold in xgames super pipe. Candide was out there building 150ft step downs. Hell every mountain used to only build step downs and people would get destroyed. Man those were the days.

Too many pussys got into skiing once they saw it on Instagram and its fuckin sad. Luckily there's still stuff you can get into like dirtbiking that doesn't have as many idiots. Liberals and feminists are too scared to ride motorcycles.
