Tanner Hall: Cyber Bully

Everyone else is listening to what their parents taught them about social networking while tanner does what anyone would do if they weren't told to filter every last thing that they say. Its fuckin refreshing for sure.

Hi Everyone! I'm Anus (classic retort right there Mr Hall, you're a real wordsmith) and a lot of you are right, I haven't been on Newschoolers in a while, though I have been a member since 2001.

I did my first season in Mammoth then and actually met Tanner once in a ski shop when I was buying my first twin tips, I even got him to sign them and I still have them in the shed! He seemed really chilled out and was a nice guy to chat to.

Shame how things have gone for him now but he's getting laughs from the kids and they pay his salary. It's hard to imagine someone being quite so arrogant and as Boax and many other pointed out, completely unable to take any criticism,but happy to give it, its laughable. Hard to believe he's in his thirtys and has such a petulant attitude.

I still think his post was really obnoxious. There are a lot of people who would be pretty disappointed to see what sort of man he has become. Maybe one day his attitude towards others will be as good as his skiing can be.

The only kids that see Tanner as "hilarious" and "badass" are the little Inspired, park rat fan boy 14 year olds that are ruining the sport.

Tanner, you're fucking embarassing. It's good you're honest and stuff but sometimes fo' real, you should just accept you're one of the old guys now.

Don't act like you're on point in the game because you clearly aren't anymore... and somehow try staying true to who you are and don't just always jump on the cool train...
 
Tanner definitely slays and is one of the best skiers to watch, but he is as far away as you can get from Earth.
 
Tanner needs to pass on the torch gracefully. He has contributed a tremendous amount to the sport and I think most people recognize that. But it's time to pass it on.

It'd be like if Gretzky came on the internet and berated the rookies in all caps rants. Like seriously, be an ambassador...wait, maybe Tanner is the Don Cherry of skiing, lol. It makes sense now.

The best part about this thread is that his friends and him are probably reading each and every post and finally understanding how moronic they act in everyday life.

It's Roz Groenwoud .. how is she showing people the tricks she can't do? What's so hard about that grab? She claims to be a 2-times x-games gold medallist in her twitter profile, but in Wikipedia she's only got 1 in the superpipe in 2012.

 
The shopping in this thread is severely lacking. I'm seriously let down that there isn't a Roz shopped into the Apollo moon landing or the Kennedy assassination yet.

I have faith though, it is a Friday.
 
ok.. so Tanner's hung up that there are tricks he simply cannot do, so he's seeking glory in backcountry or wherever he can... the hard part about once being great, is that newcomers look at past-glory and think "what's the big deal." Glory fades.. (as does beauty)... or rather it moves elsewhere.. can be a tough lesson. Madonna is a case-in-point as someone desperately not wanting to be washed up... wanting to stay relevant.
 
Haha so many haters on both sides here...just laugh about it and get over it. Tanner is dope. Olympics wil be dope. Skiing is dope. Let tanner do what he wants, all haters know hes still one of the illest in the game.
 
I practically piss myself every time he touches a keyboard, I'm laughing at him though, not with him.

Tanner is an incredible skier and yes, it is good for people to speak their mind, I do hate the bland public personality prescribed to many skiers by their agents or coaches. Of these skiers that all undeniably amazing at skiing I would love to know what they are really like, have an idea which I would like to be around as well as watch ski. Tanner gives me the opportunity to know this about him and that's good. He makes me a little sad at the same time though cos I never want people to think that this is what skiers are really like, you can sort of tell he didn't do well in school even if you don't know his story.
