Tannel hall on jay leno july 14th

heard thall is going to be on leno july 14th to nationally make a statement to push halfpipe skiing in the vancouver olympics. how do you think he is going to portray himself and our sport?
 
I've found that when an athlete is talking about or promoting a sport that isn't huge like soccer or tennis etc they'll generally put a lot of time and thought into what they say. I'm sure Tanner will do just fine.
 
I am sure that he understands %100 what that would do for our sport. I have faith in him and that he will go on the show and do very well and rep our sport! That's awesome that he is going on a show that big that millions of americans watch! Mad props to him! Tanner likes to party, he has that rep, but when it comes to be serious he knows how to take care of business and get it done!

tanner would make for a really good business man i think ...he has really good social skills and he can be very serious when he wants..idk just a thought...but ya tanner will do just fine and im happy it's him doing it
 
don't mean to be an ass, but there have been threads like this every summer but you posted no proof, why should we belive that T-hall is actually gonna be on Leno this time

wow that was terrible a little lil_g in there. tanner will do well. i mean i wouldnt want the best skier to portray something that we aren't. so whatever happens happens.
 
Tanner is the man but I worry he will talk too much gangsta yeah buddy gnar gnar stoke the fire chat that the people who he is needing to put the message across to won't understand.

They will be like:

"what country is this guy from?"

"IDK but he sounds american yet, what are these words he uses?"

"I'm not sure, what does he want?"

"Well one thing's for sure, he doesn't want half pipe to be an Olympic sport!"

"yeah course not, who would want that?"

"Ha, yeh exactly, lets go for a beer"

"good plan"
 
ok idk if this is true or not, we will just have too wait and see. but if he does then he better shave b4 he goes on and im positive he will portray our sport in a good way
 
i think i heard he was supposed to be on it but couldn't make his flight and missed the show and leno said they would reschedule at some point down the road looks like this is his chance
 
If this is legit, I hope he steps up and throws down the hammer for us. It would be epically huge for our sport to get into these olympics
 
He is probably the best person for the job. he is by far the sickest pipe skier around. The only thing he need to do is shave.
 
There is zero chance this is true, if you had said Simon I may have believed it because he was just all over the media. And the chance they would have just some random skier to go talk about the 2010 olympics is dumb, NBC would put that on Conan or Carson Daily. And July 14th is a Monday, they have the biggest guests on Monday so more people will watch (this is why headlines is monday too) and promote for the rest of the week.
 
serious i bet when most peolpe hear of freestyle skiing they think tanner hall (minus all the people that have no idea what our sport is)
 
i hope this is true...ill be at camp then and i cant think of a better place then whistler with a bunch of skiers to watch that!!!

Agreed.

A great forum to push the prospect of pipe in the olympics, hopefully he is taken seriously and not just asked if he gets dizzy doing all those spinny flips.
 
True, especially if he is gonna talk about the 2010 pipe olympics, but I'd rather see Jon on a talk show because he is funnier and more professional than Tanner. no disrespect to tanner, he is sick and is the best skier in the sport and gets too much hate for his attitude and other shit. But Jon doesn't do pipe so tanner is obvious choice.
 
i Personally do not think he has what it takes to come off even slightly educated. But i support his cause 100%. if snowboarding half-pipe is allowed, why cant skiing be?
 
So 98% of the population then. There aren't many people outside of skiers who know who Tanner Hall is. Did you not realize the people booing his last pipe run? THAT is the general public, uneducated people who have no idea what good skiing is. He obviously is one of the best at pipe, and if he could get on the show he would be the best for it, but he would not be invited onto the show. I'm not hating on Tanner, I'm saying it like it is, the general public are fools.
