Tamron17-50 vs. Canon 85-300

lol filming what? skiing? the 17-50 is a much better lens than a what 85-300? i think you mean 75-300. You're most likely going to want a wider lens so id go with the 17-50.
 
the 17-50 is a wider lense, which means it is farther zoomed out, while the 75-300 is a long lense that would be used to zoom far into your subject. if your just filming whatever, the 17-50 is the best choice.
