Tall Skiers

Do any tall skiers out there feel that their height holds them back a bit? By tall i mean over 6 feet Anyone know some really tall pros? just curious

I have a friend that is 6'4 and he always complains about being tall. Im 6 foot even and it doesnt seem to hinder me at all.

Shroder Baker and Ian McIntosh are really tall, so for big mountain it might be a plus. I think Bobby Brown is pretty tall and it doesn't seem to stop him

i think simon dumont is the tallest skier in the game and he slays, or mabey thats somone else? idk (correct me if im wrong)

im 6'3" and it is a bit unnerving cause of a higher center of gravity im jealous of the kids that are 5'8"

I have such a good story about that.

My friend who is 6"3 and likes taaaalll shit bought a simondumont corked jacket (trendwhore imo) and he bought 2 xl thinkin it would be huge but i is like 2 imches below he waist, it was funnyer when he tried the coat on the first timr

well m,aybes your like so tall, that you're so usefd to everything loking big that you're toally over fear of heights and so u just fuckin send it

OR, on the flipside, evrything looks much fucking bigger

we,ll, mainyl cliffs

Isn't Bobby Brown freakishly tall? I come in at 6'2 and I definitely am super jellin over the kids that are 5'7 or 5'8 with a nice low, controlled centre of gravity. Being lanky kinda sucks when trying to make tricks smooth.

I haven't noticed it that much, to be honest. It is just easier not to rack yourself on rails.

i hate that i was a winter kid when i was younger, i never knew that i would be 6'8". i love skiing way too much to play basketball, it sucks. i was only introduced to bball two years ago, so im really not that good,i can only feel good skiing even though im not that good at park.

I like being tall in normal life but when it comes to skiing I wish I was like 5'8

Also Liam Downey is like 6'4 and Adam Delorme is like 6'3 and Josh Bibby is pretty tall too, I think it just makes me try harder because the kids I ski with are all like 5'8 and have style cause they're shorter

For me the only problem when I ski is fitting on the chairlift. Often when the bar is pulled down it hits me on the head. It can also be hard to rest your skis on the bar suppor. I am 6 4.

being bigger allows you to absorb much greater forces. Because our range of motion is greater, we can absorb the impact over a larger distance.

there are just fewer tall skiers so just by averages there are going to be less 'stylie" tall skiers. tall dudes also stick out in a park full of 17 year old midgets, so they get noticed whether they are good or not.

My friend tries using this as an excuse for not being able to go invert haha.

I love being small.

it sucked when i had growth spurts and i could not do rails till i relearned them.
im at 6.3 right now. great for everything, now i just need to lose some weight to give me knees a break

6'8 holy. I dont think a few inches will make a difference for center of gravity really. And you could absorb more force being tall. Go stomp a cliff!

haha, first time in utah was last month and now im thinking of moving out there permanently. probably was the best time of my life

That's a stupid excuse haha I'm 6 foot or 6'1 and I have no problem going invert or hucking what everyone else can huck (even though I don't land the trick )

who wants to be short...
it doesnt make a difference for park imo.
im 6" but it does help when coming of rails. When short people will get sacked you can just stand tall and afterbang that shit....

People who complain about being tall are just looking for excuses. I'm 6'4" and have never had any problems except that a lot of skis don't come in sizes quite as long as I'd like. I need a little more air to throw things like punch fronts off little rollers than my shorter friends do, but who the hell cares about micro jumps anyway.

im 6'4" and 190lbs (yes im a skiiny fuck) but i have to huck a 7 so hard compared to my firends who are lik 5:6"ish and they throw a 7 like its my 1. i hate it but who cares

Yeah man, you might as well kill yourself if you're under 6' tall because your life is gonna suck. Honestly, who is shallow enough to care how tall you are, it doesn't make you any more of a person.

damn,

6'2", 170lbs.

I see no disadvantage to being tall really. Maybe the size of some sweet park skis could be small. But I feel fine on a pair of 181 park skis.

I've met Spriggs too, he's a tall guy, tallest I know of.

The best part of being tall is being able to split a feature between the legs to avoid nutting yourself. I've saved my boys many times from being tall
