Tall bushes on our property cut down by company building a house next door?

Call the city and report them. A similar thing happened at my condo complex whenthe board cut down a bunch of trees without the proper permits and the city fined them like 5 grand. Also they will be able to tell you exactly where the property line is, and if the dont have all the proper building permits they will get shutdown until they comply. If you see any safety violations call l and i on them.

1. make sure that they are doing illegal things.

2. If they are, sue them with evidence like others have previously told you.

3. Profit???

4.Buy new giant trees with money

5. Plant them where your old bushes were.

6. piss off comapny even more

7. MORE PROFIT???

you would have to get a revised survey of your land showing to boundary, in most cases before you can build you must do that regardless so the guys next door are probably in the right. if they are wrong and the surveying was off you could go to small claims court but you wouldn't get a whole lot. also a survay cost about 2-3 grand. my advice deal without your bushes. Family owns a surveying company .

Thanks again guys for the responses/support! And sorry, didn't realize people wanted a follow up.

But basically we took them to small claims court, in which we sued for reimbursements of the trees. We won and got money equal to the cost of replacements. In addition, we got "custody" of the trees that were thought to of been 100% on our side of the property line. Meaning they can't tear down "our" trees without consent or purchasing them from us at the agreed price.

Thanks NSers :)
