i should have also mentioned the conversation i had with a woman who refused to believe that neither i nor either of my two friends owned a gun, as clearly by virtue of our citizenship, we posses firearms. she was rediculous.

And I feel compelled to point out three things: One, upper and lower Canada were extant provinces long before Canada became a sovereign nation. In other words, native born colonists would technically be Canadians every bit as much as people born here post 1867. Secondly, partly as a result of the aforementioned, this is basically a semantic argument as to who counts as "Canadian". Thirdly, partly as a result of the aforementioned, and partly because it has nothing to do with the thread topic, this is an immensely stupid argument.

Fine. We are dumb, really dumb. Second only to religous fudementalists. It is purely the 'luck of moron' that allowed America to become the worlds only superpower (soon to be rivaled by China, yes i understand that). Our inferior social structure, economic structure, and educational structure somehow coalesced into one of the most prosperous nations in the history of man. I dunno man, I've misjudged a lot of people on this site simply because of stupid spelling errors. Also your just gonna have to get used to the fact that incoherent (sp) sentences are a part of newschoolers and the fact that some of those sentences could put a well constructed argument to shame.

Literally it isn't, but figuratively it is. The only thing that makes the US not an empire is the fact that it doesn't have an "emporer" so to speak. It is a vast extent of land with several other "territories" under it's command. There isn't a much better example in the modern world.

And I have a life thank you very much...a high paying job, a beautiful girlfriend, brand new car, I ski every weekend, it's a pretty good life if you ask me. I have no problem with Canadians, just ignorant ones. Notice how I didnt group a country into one general catagory...

you could do that anywhere in the world. Its not just Americans. Were not all stupid. We dont all agree with our president. Over 63% of Americans disapprove of the job he is doing.
 
Yes...all polls are, but out of 2,500 people polled, 63% them disapprove. And this is a national poll, not just one bias area. And in my personal experience, the majority of people I know both young and old dislike bush.
 
I just hate how they base a rating on random people and such a small fraction of the country. It proves nothing. Probable chance is ultimately false in real world statistics. Probability is logical, but what really happens never is.
 
Ok good point...but the message here is most americans do not approve of what George Bush is doing with our country. There is so much public outcry that it is safe to say the MAJORITY does not approve. I know the polls may be off, but that is besides my point of most americans dislike bush.
 
Agreed...I wouldn't use dislike though. Disagree for sure, but not dislike. Liking a person and not agreeing with their ideas is a completely different thing.
