Just because you have harvard in your country does not mean you have a better education system, for numerous reasons... namely, you can get a (usually considerably superior) education living in social-democratic countries like Canada for a mere fraction of the cost, ie, less than $8000 annually in tuition (that's overstating, I pay under 6) for schools ranked higher than Brown university, for example. U of T is 23rd globally. Is it Harvard? No. Can you afford to go to Harvard? I doubt it. Not to mention the fact that a large proportion of students and faculty in the upper echelon of American universities are international ones, nor the fact that a huge proportion of the population doesn't go to post-secondary at all, and the vast majority of those who do go to schools that don't really compare favourably with the rest of the world.
