Talking shit in the park

I'm just worried about some thing...

This year is the first one that I'll really start in freestyle; that I'll be in the park trying my best to learn a bit. Since I'll have a flat for the season in my resort, I'm changing my whole equipment, form the ski to the googles.

So, this year I'll have the new trouble makers, with a neon green suit, new shoes, new poles and so on. But I'll be a beginner in the park, even though I ski since i'm 3 years old. And I know that every one gonna talk shit about me because I have a good equipment and I can't throw shit.

What the fuck is that? Why beginners can't have some good skis or suit and be a minimum respected ? I mean, every one have to start one day. And if I want a nice set-up, it's not a crime, isn't it ?

I guess that the majority of people on this site are quiet skilled in the park and I'm sure that one time in your "park life" you've been saying bullshits about some kids who wears like candide and begin in freestyle. That sux.

I'm almost scared to go in the park with my green suit just because of that.

So if someone can explain me why this situation is like that, I would be pleased caus I can't find an answer myself.

By the way, sry for the english, swiss boy here. :)

how cares, if you've been skiing since your 3 i'm sure you can ski better than most of the people who rip the park. Besides you have to start somewhere

oh just read that you're swiss.

Don't worry dude swiss freestylers don't give each other shit, everyone's wearing fancy gear and we RESPECT everyone who tries to learn because we've all been there.

I remember the comments I got on my very first day in the halfpipe were all encouraging and motivating. Swiss are not haters.

Where will u be ridin?

you gotta earn that neon green suit, even if you are swiss.

and yeah.

just dont give a fuck.

do whatever it takes to feel comfortable.

make the park yours, find people to ski it with and just make that shit yours.

fuck dude, you are living on the mountain.

do whatever it takes to feel comfortable, whether that be headphones or something like that.

and having new skis means that people may assume you are a newb.

man...sometimes if you talk to the guys that rip and even ask for advice, they will give you respect because you went to them for tips..unfortunately a lot of rippers want to be the 'king of the park..

you will get there, i still sometimes cop it from the parkrats when i smash myself trying something pretty simple, but i get up and try agin - and as the others in the thread said - just dont give a fuck.

everyone has to start somewhere..having good gear will motivate you to get better, quicker.

Thx for the answers !

Just to answer the "you're a pussy" dude: I think you misunderstood me, I'm not afraid to be in the park.. I mean I said that but it didn't mean that I won't go in because of the haters. It's quiet hard to explain this with my english but I was just sayin' that it's not the best situation to motive beginners to start freestyle.

You get me ? If you don't I'll understand ^_^

For the others, I guess I get your point and I was kind of hoping that some of you would have said this. And I hope that I'll find more help than flamming; anyway life is life.

And for the swiss guy, I'll be all season at Crans-Montana !

i have a fluro orange dope suit,.

just go throw the biggest spread over the first kicker, then whatever you do after that will be insignificant, you own that park

if you can ski fine then who cares, it is people who cant ski worth shit that go out and buy 4 grand worth of stuff that pisses us off, have fun!

some people always talk shit. if you have skied since you were 3 years old, then you should be pretty good in skiing, so people wont talk that much shit if you really can ski. its just when some snobs get all the best gear and cant even ski down a slope without falling, thats just rediculous. and if someone will talk shit about you, just ignore them. it usually shows that they think you are a threat and they make themselves feel good about talking shit about ppl. dont take that kind of ppl seriously.

by wearing a neon green suit, you're only going to be bringing more attention to yourself.

why not just wear something regular untill your more proficient on the hill

wear it if you like it. That's what counts, even if you're bad at skiing... go your thing and don't care about what people think.

exactly .....just DO YOU who gives a fuck if kids talk shit they are just being haters kind of like 90% of this forum playa get used to it

"who does that guy think he is with his new neon green suit? he cant ski for shit! he must be full of himself buying that suit, he must think he's the shit. i better go put that newb in his place."

thats what a lot of people are going to think when they see you. im not saying its right, but it's true. wearing bright colours and on pieces in the park attract a lot of attention, pros can pull it off because they throw down.

personally i dont give a shit, wear your damn suit, ski park, have as much fun as you can. just know that people who talk shit on you are really insecure if they feel they have to put you down because you cant spin onto a rail or some shit.

Wow, good thing I ride where people aren't a bunch of spoiled little 16 year old cunts. You're all incredibly lame. Don't hate on people because you're jealous of their equipment; he bought it, he didn't win it for ebing a good skier, and everyone has to start somewhere.

Shit talking / Hating on the hill makes you an embarassment to the sport.

do you enjoy skiing? do you have fun when you're in the park?

assuming you're saying yes........then the hell with people who are negative. just do your thing man.

yeah dude jsut shred, i would get the dankest gear i could if i had the money even if i wasnt good, just have fun yo

haha i agree, you shouldnt be rockin somethin like that your first year. But anyway its just natural for people to get frusterated when they see someone with brand new skis that cant stomp a straight air. You'll see once you get good, you'll see

Get up in there grill and fuck up those pussy insecure bitches, If they are any good they prolly won't make fun of you, it's the kids that think they are good that will heckle

well buddy i know it shouldn't be like that but alot of the time it is. just suck it up and go in the park. respect will increase as your skills do.

Its called seniority...same reason it sucks to be a freshman and is cool to be a senior. Same thing with corporate america. Ever watched a construction crew frame a house. More often than not they have their 'bitch' who they just heckle nonstop. One day though if the 'bitch' tries hard enough someone else will take his place and he will move on up. just get used to it

Me though? Ill be listening to my soundtrack not given a fuck bout anyone cept my crew.

yes at one point i was a total beginner/gaper in the park, but I was learning park w/ my ugly ass yellow colombia jacket, bib pants, and Rossi Axium skis. I didn't even really know what "park skiing" was, but there were jumps and shit at my mountain and i had fun trying to hit them. After awhile I discovered things like Newschoolers, bought some twin tips, got some style, and now I dont get heckled. It just something that happens.

the key element everyone is failing to understand in this thread is that we're talking about Crans-Montana.

In Crans-Montana every kid is wearing the most expensive bling bling designer outfit, and if you aren't wearing 07/08 gear the fashion police will come and arrest you and ban you from the resort.

first of all those people are just jealous of your gear, and second of all, most of the people on this site are not as skilled as they crack themselves up to be.

I've rarely made fun of anyone in the park, especially not skiiers. The only people I make fun of are snowboarders who tell me I suck because I ski then they go and eat shit on a 10 foot method grab

yah when i see a kid who has the sickest gear on and does not have a fucking clue what he is doing on rails or off jumps just makes me soo mad that his rents would go out and buy this d-bag a pair of twins.....damn rich kids i'm still on 720's how gay is that

ahah like working in a bar since 1 month now and I'm going to be ski instructor in this station for 4 month too ...

Don't worry it's not my parent who bought my equipment... It's just the fact that I need a new gear this year and I really like flashy colour... I mean, that's it. I find a bit weird that "some colours" are like restricted for "some people".

those colors arent restricted to those people...fuck that, just ride and have fun, if anyone talks shit just go punch them.

i always get mad at people for having really nice shit when they suck, but i can never think of a good reason as to why i get pissed off. so just tell them to shut the fuck up and that you are learning and wondered if there was anything wrong with looking like the fuckin boss while doing it

I have a friend, he has been a skier since he was 4. He's not very good at all in the park, that's why we call him yardsale during the winter months. He wears the goofiest, brightest shit he can find, Elmer Fud hats, one piece powder suits on sunny days, neon ANYTHING, and he sticks only about 25% of what he attempts, be it rails, jumps, or little pop 180's. The bottom line is, he doesnt give a fuck what anyone thinks. He skis with a group of about 6 of us, and he is the worst, but he doesnt care, we all get laughs out of eachother whether its eating shit gettin off the lift, pushing eachother off the lift, or not sticking a 9. If you love skiing then fuck anyone else who thinks otherwise of you being on the mountain. If you suck, then just laugh at yourself if you can't land shit, there are good days and bad days, but each day is a new one. Wear what you want, ski with what you have and you WILL get better, until then just down a few drinks, a few shots, turn up the Ipod and Give'r.
