Talib Kweli has officially turned gay

your a bitch. and its funny.

the fact remains that your reasoning sucks. are you black? if your arent you really cant be all like "niggas in blackface". what the hell is that? you have this deep hate for kanye west. and its stupid, just stupid. of course im still talking. you have met him. great. you dont really know him, but you judge him completely because he doesnt rap about what "you think he should rap about".

yes because he raps about wearing diamonds, not the struggles to get them by his africa brethren, he therefore is a pretending to be black. makes sense.

thats like saying "i know dashboard is an emo band, but they dont sing about cutting themselves enough. and thats what emo should be. i know what it should be because i totally have a connection to it."

whatever man, I respect talib a lot for staying in the underground for as long as he did when he KNEW he could get more money doing mainstream stuff with mainstream ideas. Its not easy at all to attract people from both mainstream and underground and talib was one of the best at doing that.

You enjoy myself

i think you're missing the point of the whole diamonds arguement, i THINK c lo was saying that he's rappin about his diamonds and tries to make a song talking about all the shit that goes down like mining the diamonds or whatever(i'm 100% NOT knowledgable on that subject)...so what c lo is saying is that kanye is a hyprocrite, not pretending to be black

that's what i got from it at least....i probably could've worded it better though, oh well

-Jeff

we he did say he was pretending to be black. pretty much in those words. but c lo was saying that because he named the song diamonds from sierra leone, it is an injustice that he didnt rap about the poverty there. it wasnt hypocritical when you think about it. he didnt talk up the song as a tribute to those who work for the diamonds in sierra leone. its just the title.

damn you are like an insider on this. very cool.

if we didnt buy the diamonds, alot more people would die there. there economy revolves around it. my own opinion is that stopping this would cause more problems, but still its an injustice.

well i haven't heard the song, nor do i have any knowledge of sierra leone.....my previous post was just how i interpreted c lo's posts, but i could be waaay off

-Jeff

c-lo just give kanye his credit. best producer ever (minus rza and madlib in my opinion)...and your calling him blackface, refering to LB talk is bullshit. do you even get what LB is trying to say? Little Jon and 50 Cent are the ones wearing that blackface by furthering peoples stereotypes of black people, def not kanye. and anyway, Ye and LB are tight.

calling him an uncle tom is racist as fuck. What becuase hes not decked out in G-Unit gear?

Further, you drop "nigga" like you have some reason for it. does you playing at 2 house parties as a shitty dj give u that right. if one black person is around you i bet you arent saying shit.

and you havent met kanye, he just wouldnt give your friend the time of day on his little radio show. just give it up.

Sure in 96 Rawkus might have had more soul, but they have been replaced by others. Talib dissapoints me now too, but hes still nicer than every commercial rapper out besides jay-z. and thats what kweli is now, a commercial rapper.

and again, dont ever say "niggas in blackface" again you ignorant bastard, especially when talking about kweli and kanye.

Yeah you fellas are probably right, I don't even like hip hop. And you obviously understand the allusion and connotation of the term niggas in blackface and uncle tom, i can tell that by your diction and your insights on hip hop tell me your extremely well read especially in terms of the civil rights movement and current events.

Listen kids you obviously know everything and have a good grasp of the scene but just do me this one favour, stop arguing and go buy some classic records and read for just 15 minutes about rawanda, sierra leone, haiti, then consider race politics in the US and the foundations of hip hop, I don't want to tell you what to think, fuck maybe you'll still be just as into kanye, I'm just saying that music has played a certain roll in the black community since slavery and there are certain foundations which are to be respected, i think its important that you can at least recognize the connotations of this music cause right now....

that response fell short of your other paragraphs. im a little dissapointed.

"I don't want to tell you what to think"

yep.

^ oh i meant that quote to you, not mocking you. like i dont want to tell you what to think either. just keep on doing what is making you happy. just watch the racial slurs.

Listen brah, I wasn't talking to you, I know you know whats going on, respect. These other cats don't know, and I know you know that. Now i don't like kanye and granted it is retarted, but at least i have reasons unlike these kids who are like, well i enjoy kanye because he has fly beats and dizzope lyrics and is in heavy rotation and i look cool rocking out in land yacht

thats exactly what im doing, you got me. i only like kanye becuase he is in heavy rotation you got me.

G R I P S E T

"who cares if he doesnt tell the struggles in sierra leone. what i like about hip hop is that there are no set boundaries for what an artist can do." skogenjake

but see c-lo was talking about the message represented in his music man. Idk i really dont know too much about hip-hop but everyday i wanna learn more but from each MC, rocker, blues, etc each song ussally represnts something and has a message Kayne i feel is being a hipocrite (sp??) by wearing and using diamonds when he is critizing the black community wearing diamonds.

He isn't neccesarily criticizing it. Just pointing out how ironic that diamonds seem to be such a big thing in hip hop and urban culture considering the fact that their ancestors died for them.

exactly. kanye doesnt care. tell him hes wrong, he'll keep doing it, even at a greater extent.

did i just watch "Driven: Kanye West" on VH1?

yes.

seriously i think c_lo is done here. your right. when on a ski website disagreeing about music and racial comments, its alllll about "respect". well maybe before you lose anymore, something that really seems to mean alot to you (yes, we are still on the internet) and apply what you have left for your hip hop "heroes". start a thread about rappers you love.

haha niggaz in blackface. i cant believe you honestly said that.

Somewhat irrelevant, but whoever said Blackstarr is the best album of all time... not at all

compilation or not, Soundbombing 2 owns all

I'd say next is def Ready to Die by Notorious
