sometimes they are told that if a defensive lineman goes offsides to just sit there to make sure you don't get called for a false start and to show the refs he was offsides. But this, idk haha
 
there was some interview where he talked about it

and apparently the coach had told him beforehand that if someone was offsides you should just stay where you are and show the ref that it wasn't you, and in the interview the guy was laughing his ass off admitting he took it too far but in his words "it's what coach wanted!" so he stayed there and when he got off the field him and the coach both laughed about it haha
