has anyone ever taking theyre parents alcohol? my dads had these sam adams in the fridge for 2 years....... the dates even gone buy.....

oh god im having trouble downing this........ sam adams holiday porter....... maybe its bitter cause its ale, but its probly skunked

actually your both right and both wrong

though the expiration date on beer is bullshit and they didnt strat doing that til like 5 years ago its not like its milk. but two years is a little long. if it were in cans then it actually would prob been alright. be doesnt expire but can go bad,

and sam adams holiday is a very full and hoppy (bitternes) beer so if your not into that you prob would like it. if it is from last winter it still would be fine.

expiration dates on beer is just such a gimmick to try and sell more beer

Are you sure about that? I'm fairly certain that even the beer inside a sealed keg can go bad if it sits too long (however, I guess it may have something to do with it not being refridgerated for a long time).

I think beer is different. because they also have to put nutrition info on food/drink, and beer never has any. I think its cause they don't want fatass people to be reminded that every beer they drink is 200 calories.

anyways, like many people said, it won't go bad, but it won't taste good.

The fresher the beer, the better. It just gets worse over time. The more sunlight that directly hits the beer, the faster it gets bad. That's why beer comes in brown and green bottles, to protect it from the sun. Beer in clear bottles should be kept out of the light as much as possible. Even beer in kegs, casks or cans does get worse, but at a slower rate. You're pretty safe with American beer, that shit is cold filtered to hell because of the FDA and there are lots of preservatives added to the malt during the brewing process. If you were drinking an unfiltered 1516 accordance beer that was 2 years old, that would be awful.

It probably tastes bad because the taste of porters is a bit harder to appreciate or acquire compared to a light lager. I wouldn't sweat it. Get crunk.

i take my peeps beer sometimes not alot just like 3 beers or so.

if they are sealed in the bottle or can, and refrigerated, they wont expire

its probly just because its a porter and your used to shity bud light. Its defiantly not skunked if its been in your fridge. It needs to be exposed to exsesive sunlight to get skunked.

That sums it up the best. Once a beer is bottled, it isnt meant to age anymore.

Not that it'll get noticeably worse quickly, but it wont get any better.
