Taking online college courses?

Right now I'm a freshman in college and because I fucked around in high school i had to take a remedial math class this semester instead of the one I should be taking(College Algebra). My curriculum is pretty much set for me, and next semester I should be taking trig. I don't want to continue to be behind on my curriculum like I am now because of this remedial math class, and the only way to catch up to where I should be is to take college algebra online over xmas break, and take trig in the spring...I've been told that even though I will still be behind, I shouldn't take the 3 week online course because online math courses are extremely hard and near impossible to get a good grade in. Does anyone have some experience with online math classes? Would I be better off just taking the whole class next semester and staying behind academically, or taking the 3 week course over break?

Thanks in advance

See I would recommend the exact opposite. Online classes aren't real college. They are exponentially easier.

False^ online classes are harder in topics like math because you have to put in so much time, and theres no one on one real life help.

Math is either easy and fun, or ridiculously hard. If you have trouble with one segment, you will have trouble with all the rest of your math. I'd say just keep working on it in real school, I started at basic math this year out of my own will to re learn fractions, and it has helped tremendously with my trig and calc

pretty much true, online classes are good for the easy stuff. if math is hard for you i suggest taking it in an actual classroom with an actual professor. who cares if you're behind, not many people graduate in four years anymore anyway, least i am not.

yeah if math is not one of your strong subjects do NOT take it online. I'm taking an online english course, and it is brutal because I suck at writing and having the online barrier for communication makes it even worse.

ahh i know how you feel man during my fifth year i had to tell everyone i was in a remedial class, i was really getting occlumencey lessons from snape though to stop the connection between me and lord voldemort.

yeah, and im such a huge procrastinator which really doesn't help any of these factors either
