Taking off switch

for some reason I cant take off switch. do you have any suggestions? Do you come off with your feet somewhat scissored, or your feet more centered like a normal take off.

thanks.

Take a whole day just "switching" it on groomers over and over again until your carving perfect and in comfort switch with paralell skis. Then start to hit jumps.

Yeah a little bit wide, like whatever is comfortable, scissor based on how much you want to be carving off the lip

this exactly. start over on the easy trails and start learning to carve switch. its the same as carving normal but you are backwards. once you start getting used to that go on small jumps and try just doing some switch one. you still want to pop off the lip and look up over your shoulder and spin. you'll get used to it soon enough and be throwing bigger stuff.

i did that today... and since decking has ravaged my feet im now icing them. just do what my boyfriend said - no bitchassness

I prefer the staggered stance switch carve takeoff so you're on the same edges. Some people like to ride in perfectly square on both inside edges. This works but is jock as hell and hideous.

im still learning how to take off switch. i can do switch 3's but anything over that feels hucked and pencily

Make sure that you are centered over your skis, not to far forward or back, pop at the lip and make sure that you do not spin too early of you might cath an edge and get wrecked.

I'm awful at spinning switch but it definitely helps me to look AROUND my shoulder and not over it. that cuts way down on my switch pizza-ing.

just scissor enough to get a mellow carve that sets your spin. I find that zero spins are wayyyyyy harder for some reason. it's like spinning keeps me balanced.
