Taking off my cast early...

I'm sitting here alone at my house with a half leg cast on, while all of my friends are skiing and snowboarding. In october i broke my fibula, tibia, and growth plate in my ankle. all of them are healed, and i got my quad muscle back from being on crutches, so should i take the cast of now, and ski tommoro, (keep in mind the ankle is almost stationary in a ski boot, and i have even skied with a sprained ankle before), or should i wait until monday to get the cast off and ski christmas? if i just take it easy tommoro on groomers could i pull it off?

why risk it, its only 1 extra day, but then again not much else is gonna heal in 1 day, but id just wait

even if you take it off, wait a week to ski again. walking on it will make it so much better. (even though you you already have muscle back, you should still walk on it without the cast before you ski again). you would be much better off not to ski tommorrow.

yeah, you could miss a week of skiing while strengthening yor leg, or a miss an entire season for being stupid...

you should listen to the medical people, they went to University for 6 years so im pretty sure they have a better idea for what you should do than a bunch of kids on newschoolers

from personal experiance, i say give it too much time to heal before you give it too little.

I still have nagging injuries from years ago because I was impatient to get back into things.

Dont take it off and if you already did dont ride or anything even if you dont get hurt tommarow your bones will still be much weaker and your muscles too, you probably would want to go to some type of pt for it to get the muscles back otherwise you will hurt it again, doctors know what they are talking about even if you dont like it do what they say

I call dibs on his equipment he'll be wanting to sell when he injures it again for being stupid.

While it may be stationary in a boot, you are still putting alot of force on it, and your foot is anything but stationary putting it in and out of a boot.

and its NOT stationary in your boot. boots flex. not to mention a large portion of balance in subconciously delivered to the muscles in your feet/ankles. have fun with all that.

you fucking broke your fibia and tibia and GROWTH PLATE.

this isnt a sprained ankle numb nuts.

why risk it and have to wait for it to heal all over again, its still early season so just wait

its been almost 3 months since i broke it, its healed, and i just took off the cast and my ankles not that stiff at all. and theres no pain. AND i can put it in a ski boot just fine.

yah, i just broke my ankle, and i really wanna go skiing, but the doctor tol me to stay off it. The thing is, Ankles are really screwy. and if you don't let them heal. They can be screwed up for the rest of your life. but you know, i'm going skiing tomorow so...

haha, areyouserious, just wait... its one more day, and you'd be tempted if you went out tommorow, so the the whole taking it easy on groomers would be gone in a second
