Taking lifters off bindings? +k for answers

I think I know the answer to this question but I just need to make sure...can you take the lifter off px 12 ti lifter bindings??

you can, but make sure that if you get them mounted at a shop that they know you took the lifters off so they use the correct screw length

if you do you will need to get shorter screws or cut the current screws down. Shops will charge you extra for this.

when bindings are lifted your boot becomes farther from the ski and ground. i think it helps with turning but im not all that sure because i dont have a racing background. in freestyle though there is definitely an advantage to being closer to the ground and your skis.

ithere was a pervious thread bout this... but any shop can do this for you or... you cut the screws and then check screw length by holding binding up to the side of the ski with the screws in it, just make sure you don't cut them too short

your right, it really does not, you probably won't notice the difference at all.

stick the screws through the lifter plate to see how much you gotta cut off. Just take it to a hardware store like home depo and theyll do it for free

Actually, as most members of newschoolers know, lifters look gay, and how your setup looks is 98% of your performance. The other 2% is how baggy your outerwear is.

i dont think you want to cut your screws.......... you are better off just getting the right length

umm, no, don't do that, just tell your shop you pulled the lifter plates off and they'll put in new screws

I would not reccomend cutting your screws. If you are determined to remove your lifters, you can get your local shop to order you a set of new screws for next to nothing (if they dont already have a set in stock). New screws will have the proper taper at the end, which is important if you ever want to remount your bindings in a different position on your ski or on a new pair of skis.

But honestly, you are going to have a real hard time noticing a difference of 10mm by removing your lifters. And if you have to ask about this type of thing, it is probably going to be much more trouble for you than it is worth.

True, jib or freeskiing bindings dont usually come with any lifter plates, but the difference is very minimal. Besides the plates are designed to help you ski better on the rest of the mountain.
