Take em back?

So just bought some EP's and took em to a legit shop, get them home and notice bumps on the bases of my skis where the screws are. Want to know if im good to take them back. Any advice on what i should do? Heres a pic, hard to see but its the best picture i could get

ouch, the shop guy must be idiot or something. def need to go back to the shop and see what they can do.

You are probably asking how that happened... well, I am guessing you had bindings that had a plastic plate with them such as the s912ti/914 or the look px/rossi axial models. The screws are the right length if the plate is used, if not, the screws can go down through the core and push on the base, which sounds like what happened. The skis actually aren't ruined, but I would call Line and ask them what they think.

It is not a huge deal, the ski is actually very thin towards the toe piece (especially if you mount forward of suggested) and one the ones I have mounted (with P18's) I actually had to replace the front two 9 mm screws on the toepiece with 7 mm junior screws. Just be nice to the tech and they will probably give you a free tune or something for the trouble.

yeah im gonna be cool and just run in there when i can. the shop is chill and all the people there are tight. Just gonna go check out what all can be done. Thanks

When this happens it is one of two things

1) The screws are too long

2) The screws are the right length, but the tech used a bit that wasn't long enough, so when the screw goes in all the way and has to push something out of the way, the base dimples...

Neither situation is extremely serious, and they can be fixed up pretty good...just the extra downtime without being able to ride them would make me mad.

back the screws out in the mean time. The longer you leave them in there, the harder it is going to be to get rid of the dimples.

and im not going to touch the screws, i could try to back them out, but if they see that ive been messing with the mount they might think i was the one who did it in the first place and not help me at all

Yeah don't touch them, but stop waiting around until you find the time to get them in there. Make sure you go soon

ouch, you got screweeeddd

get it?

sorry. but anyways yea definately take them back and do it quick. like you said dont adjust anything and be as polite as possible when you go in but make sure you clearly get your point across that they owe you new skis??

hope you get some new ones

ahah they dimpled your bases shit fuckin sux i got the brand new 08 invaders waited on them to get the pink bases got them shipped in went to get mounted and they drilled too deep and did the exact same thing, the guy told me he would let me use the skiis over the weekend fuck them up jib on the road, and he will have the new ones in on monday , didnt charge me a dime, no install fee, no swap fee when i brought them back, nothing all free, guy was a ballerr such a nice guy, hopefully u get someone like that but it doesnt seem like it if the guy didnt say nethign to u, when he gave them to u, he shoulda atleast told u he fucked up

Its an easy fix. Take off the bindings, heat the dimple and tap it as flat as the shop can get it, then a good stonegrind should fix it for the most part.

DO NOT TAKE REMOUNT FOR AN ANSWER! if they want to do that tell them it was their fault, and you arent gonna pay for their mistake on resale. If they cant fix it by backing the screws out, they owe you new skis, no question. If they wont then report them to the better business bureau
