Tailoring old ski gear

I'm wondering if anyone has had success with taking their outerwear to a professional tailor to be refitted? I have an old '08-09' anomie jacket which I love (lightweight, shell, waterproof). It would be ideal for stashing in the BC pack. However, it's a large, or XXL in any other brand. It would be perfect to take out 50% of the sleeve material and some off the torso as well. The vents might make it tricky, but shouldn't a professional be able to do this pretty easily? $50 sure beats $150 for a new one.

Without compromising the performance or spending an arm and a leg - doubtful. There's a reason the seams are taped.

Go to any reputable ski shop and ask if they use a specific tailor for alterations or repair of outerwear. That is most likely the shop that will be able to work on your jacket.
