Yea i just talked to Courtney, she is doing really well considering the circumstances. The Tahoe crew is really supporting her. Anyway, she can never ski again which blows hardcore, but she will walk and isnt parilyzed. They are holding off on surgery for a bit. She had the same doctor as Lars Veen, and she has pretty much the same injury only lower in the back, however she can walk and Lars is paralyzed from the neck down... which is even more horrible... I will post more later, keep praying or whatever for her and Lars.

Aww, I just heard about this today. That's really sad, I hope she recovers alright. On the bright side, the doctors often have to give the worst case scenario in order to avoid being sued for malpractice if things turn out worse than they expected. Hopefully this is the case and she'll be able to ski again!

 
is it one of those deals where the reason she cant ski again is becuase if she falls again like that she would die?

i just got back from the hospital. good news like you said, they are putting off the surgery. she will get out of the hospital sooner than she thought!! she is keeping an amazing attitude through all this. keep prayin for her guys.

 
yeah for shure, this whole thing sucks, i dont know what i would do if i couldnt ski again. keep your hopes up and think positive. you will be back on the snow, just keep that in your head.

breaking your back would suck, i will never be the same. although i dont thikn i know who she is i hope she gets better, and will be able to ski soon... being punished fro not being able to ski is something i'd never wish upon any skier.

I overshot a 60 one time and overshot the landing and all I saw was a big white flash and it sounded like a bomb went off, I just kinda laid down on the park looking up at the clouds swirling around at night, it was pretty fun.

I also overshot a 30 footer by about 10 feet on a cork 9 gone wrong landed in a quarter of a frontflip and nothing happened.... wow i just realized how lucky i am... im gonna go jump off a bridge now

Yeah. My doc told me not to ski anymore, but I wasnt going to have any of that. As long as my legs work and there is air in my lungs I will be skiing. I suspect the same with courtney.

Man, that sucks,its so sad. I didn't know her but that is a horrible thing to happen to anyone. I will be praying for her. I know all of you are kind of anti-religion but hopefully the Lord is with her (whoever she believes in) and helps her through this so that she can ski and walk problem free again.

Yeah, If she didn't need surgery, hope it was just a compression. They hurt, and suck and Screw you up for a while, but life goes on all right.

they always say that....my dad got nailed by an 18 wheeler this summer and they said hed never walk agian, he walked in a month and was water skiing in 2 months....good luck to u, i know ull ski again
