Are any of you beeing affected by the fire? It was like three blocks from my friends house last night, but I havent heard from them today.

Fire in South Lake = Not good!
 
Its bigtime, prayers going out to the people in SLT , its terrible. That shit could happen here before you even read this.
 
I helped fight the fire Sunday afternoon till monday night on SMHC handcrew.( 41 hr. shift on the line. Returning Wednesday.)  We did our best and saved 24 or so homes in a certain area using backfire tactics and structure protection.

Thoughts and prayers go out to all who have been affected.

I hope the Sierra Club learns something from this, thin a few trees or thin a few hundred homes??? hmmm...
 
I hope the fire gets contained and stopped soon...sooo sad for all those people in south lake.

Props to all the brave firefighters out there working hard to stop it. I hope for the best.
 
1: It is dry as FUCK (40% of the country is in drought)

2: The forests are super dense tinderboxes.

3: There are lots of causes for fires during this time of year.

 
wow, hand crews doing structure protection! thats a job for the engine slugs. a lot better than mopping up huh.
