T4i specs and pics leaked

The cross-point/type auto focus is definitely an improvement. My 60d focuses a lot faster than my rebel xsi. I don' think we'll be seeing a 70d and 7d2, I have a feeling those are going to merge into a top of the line aps-c dslr, and then there will also be an entry level full frame camera.
 
At least it will drive t2i prices even lower!

if they can make minimal changes and continue making money off of it, then they have no reason to change things up, and i can't blame them for that.
 
I feel like the video AF will use the touch screen like an iPhone, and the off/on/video seems really useful. I'll upgrade from my t2i when I see a huge improvement. This doesn't feel like a huge improvement, but a step forward. I' not going to trust the video AF on it's first version but eventually I feel like it will be usable.
 
AF on my Nikon D3100 takes like .6 seconds when recording and its still useless.

AF during video is and forever will be a gimic.
 
Just think of it as them scamming for profit so they can lower the cost and fund r&d for the pro-sumer and pro level gear.
 
I don't know why people even pay attention to Canon anymore. This isn't any different from a t2i.

Also, Canon's philosophy has always emphasized marketing. Instead of making the best cameras possible, they make the most attractive cameras possible. Then they dump a bunch of money into marketing costs to offset. Instead of making a camera that sells itself, they focus on seeing what they can get away with. Brilliant business tactic. Too bad technological progression suffers.

I would say that is a pretty awesome improvement. I guess we will see this on the Canon mirrorless camera that is coming soon...
 
Rofl... Why is everyone hating on Canon so much. Is that like the new hype? What did you all expect to be in the new camera?

How different were the Xt, Xti and Xsi from eachother? Those were all the same camera. Just because the T2i was groundbreaking in the video kind of sense doesn't mean they can release something major like that every year. If you want big upgrades, you have to pay big money. It's like that with EVERYTHING that get's released on a yearly basis.

The difference between a RED One and Epic is big because there was lots of time in between those camera's. How different was the iPhone 3G from the 3Gs? And how different were the iPhone 4 and 4s? Basically the same fucking phones right? You know why? Because that's the way marketing works.

Everybody should stop being such haters, just because that seems to be the new cool thing around here and actually think for a fucking moment and realize this is a normal upgrade, no different from any other electronics product, by any other brand. Just because a camera like the C300 is a piece of crap (comparetively) doesn't mean everything Canon produces is shit.
 
Touch screen would be useful I think. Not that I would ever want one on a professional body, but on an entry level body I could see it being a nice addition
 
i don't get why people are upset about the touch screen.

if you don't want to use it, don't use it. it's not like they got rid of all the buttons. as evan said, i have a touch screen on my fs100 and i don't use it much but it's nice sometimes. it's not like it hinders the performance of my camera in any way considering i can just use the buttons.
 
i dont htink everything in this world needs to have a touch screen.... sure its cool, but no nesscary, i like the flip oyt screen though, tats very helpful.
 
does anybody know if you can use the buttons on the t4i just as they are on the t2i, it seems from the canon specs that the touch screen is mainly for choosing your focus point and gutchy stuff like that. From the pictures it looks like they kept the same buttons that the t2i/t3i's have so it would make sense that you can either use the touch screen or the regular buttons depending on what you prefer. Also continuous autofocus would be really nice for skiing, not worrying about checking your focus every run/feature would be nice.
