T3i to Final Cut

Everytime i bring footy from my card to final cut, it takes up a huge amount of space and I have to render everything I do. Also the slow motion is terrible..it comes out really choppy and not smooth. I'm filming in 720 60p so slow motion should work. Any tips?

I use premiere but from other threads

- convert the files to apple pro res with mpeg streamclip before importing

- to get good slow mo interpret the 60p as 24

maybe it is your sequence settings.. look up that

I don't have cinema tools im using express.. can pro res be used with express?

im not sure about pro res as ive never used it, but for slow motion, you're going to need to conform your footage for it to be smooth.. when you import your 60p footage into express, it will take the setting of your project. so basically it will be throwing away frames out of your footage to keep it the same length..
