So i have been filmin alot throughout the summer with my new t3i with both my 55-200 and kit lense and with winter around the corner really want to get a very versitile lense for the ski season...

I am looking for a good wide angle lense for follow cams and shooting in low light.

And comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated and rewarded with positive karma!

thanks!

it's a standard zoom. But 17 is wide enough for follows. It's decently cheap. Basically the zoom range is gonna be similar to your kit lens but it's f/2.8 and its not shitty

the 18-55 isn't bad optics. The only things bad about it from a video standpoint are the build and non-fixed aperture. It's got IS which is definitely nice.

What's your budget? anything inparicular you're looking for lens wise?

I'm gonna make a sticky thread for lens suggestion threads...

for price range i really do not have a range, just wanna find the best deal of course

lense wise as i said i am looking for just a wide angle lense, good enough for follow cams and general video use (pans, dollys, etc) but it does not by any means need to have IS or VC

any help would be greatly appreciated guys!

tokina 10-17. if you're gonna be filming park you're gonna want to do some follows. follows without a fisheye just look weird IMO, this tokina lens (excluding the 8-15L fisheye canon put out) is the best fisheye for crop sensor cameras.

It's a great lens, very very sharp and in my opinion the best lens for wide angle skiing or wide angle in general. Look at Michael clarkes edits
