T2i Lense

Hey guys. Im probably going to be getting the t2i soon and was wondering what lenses people have used (mainly for skiing, wide lenes) and which one they would recommend.
My budget is probably about 300 dollars.

I use a 17-40 f/4L, but that's way out of your price range. If you want zoom, you'll most likely ahve to go with a kit lense. Otherwise, you could get a fairly nice prime for that price. I don't know too much about primes yet, so I'll let somebody else tell you about those.
 
*Lens.

Check out maybe a 24mm (new or old canon FD/nikon *with adapter) or a 17-50 2.8 tamron, that might be out of your range too.
 
Just because you're filming skiing doesn't necessarily mean you want a wide lens. Helios 58mm are supposed to be great and they're only $35 on ebay.

Wide angle lenses can be very useful for dynamic angles in skiing photos, but you can film skiing with not so wide lenses because you have the option of camera movements throughout your shots.

Getting something in the 20-35 range would be good for most everything you want to do. I don't much but don't think anything wider than about 20mm would be useful for me for filming skiing on a crop sensor camera.
 
I know that, its just ive used one before, and liked it for what ill be doing the most, follow cams and closeup shots
 
You can buy my 28-135mm from me, 225 shipped. 28 is decently wide and with it all the way to 135 you can get nice and close too.
 
What other lenses have you used before? I wouldn't make a decision based off of one lens you've used a few times. Buying a lens should be a very big decision since you're lens will most likely last longer than you body.
 
buy my 24 2.8! It's a super amazing lens and I need cash because I just picked up a 17-40 4L
 
obviously an EF 600mm F4L is the best lens for filming skiing on a t2i, anyone who says other wise is a newb

probably the best kit lens out there and definitely has a wide zoom range. Yours luckily didnt get crushed by my snowmobile and came back to you in one piece hah.
I shot a bunch of skiing with this exact lens last year btw. Literally e heaths.
